So out of curiosity I got reading about how slimline uses internal thread so it’s narrower than aeropac. I was interested in the 38mm quick lock series. Does anyone have any idea if Loki cases work???

They mention a lot of AT or CTI and say don’t use a AMW or Kodson unless you get snap ring then set snag ring variant up only for those specific cases.

really curious if Loki works with quick lock.

The answer is....it depends. I have a snap ring version Slim Line in the red Nuke that's in my Avatar. I have flown it several times with Loki motors. I made it work by taking a section of motor tube cut to fill the length from the snap thrust ring to the end of the case. Then, the thrust washer and snap ring would work quite well. I don't see why the internal threaded version would be any different.

There was some discussion a long while back that some snap ring cases had the thrust ring a little further up thereby making the back too long to work with the retainers. Who knows but the 38mm Loki cases I had worked well with the Slim Lines once you made the spacer.

By the way, the Slim Lines are about as sexy as a retainer can get and I generally prefer them over Aeropacks in most all cases. I have used both the threaded in 29mm and the snap ring variety in 29mm and 38mm. Good luck!

Yes, the GLR Qwik-Loc Slimline retainers fit the Loki 38mm hardware, almost like a gove! I have several rockets with them. Below is a pic of the retainer dry-fit on the Loki Hardware. You may notice that the threaded lock isn't fully seated. This is not an issue as there are a lot of threads and you are able to hand tighten it well.

For comparison sake, here it is along with the GLR Bell and Aeropack 38mm retainers.

That was with the previous version of Loki hardware. Scott moved the groove for the thrust ring down, and now the hardware fits all Aeropack and GLR retainers almost perfectly. Also, AFAIK that was a 54mm case issue, or at least I experienced this on my previous gen 54-2800 case with the GLR tailcone retainer. The same GLR tailcone retainer with the new gen 54-2800 hardware, fits perfectly.

MAC Performance has their own version of Slimline, and they also work with Loki and other snap ring cases that I've tried.

Our 54mm Fastback has been very popular. The 38mm version will be available later this year. We wanted to be sure there was enough interest in our fastback before expanding the product line.

Thanks!
Mike
