got my son a 6.5 creedmoor for hunting...and maybe fun at the range. Can't wait to get it zero'd in...
6.5 Creed is awesome IMO. I got a chance to stretch mine to 1200 yards earlier this year.

What did you end up picking up? What glass are you looking at? If you are looking for budget friendly and still really good performance, Viper PST 6-24 X 50 First Focal Plane (Gen 1) would be my first pick, check EuroOptic.

Browning Aframe 3 composite stalker. a solid gun with a solid reputation.
Leupold 3-9x40. Again solid....

guessing that's a good gun for a 16 year old, and if he does something stupid, not too expensive.

You mean AB3? They replacement for the now discontinued A-Bolts, I think. I've never been a Browning fan and for reasons I don't know. Or Winchester for that matter. But Browning has a solid reputation and been in the business long enough to know what they're doing for sure. It should serve him well. Admittedly I don't know much about them. I'm only recently getting back into shooting after a long hiatus from guns. I've had lots of catch up to do with all the new offerings.

@rfjustin .
That is a nice looking piece.

I have recently become interested in shooting NRL22, and I have begun pulling together a base class rifle; a Tikka T1X. I have the rifle, scope, extra mags, and a couple mfg offered stock upgrade parts, and I am currently on hold due to some "out of stock" issues at Diversified Integrated Products (DIP). Specifically my 25MOA scope rail, muzzle part, and tactical bolt knob.

If you do not know what the NRL or NRL22 is, check them out. NRL posts a lot of match videos on Youtube, and the NRL22 is similar, but obviously on a smaller scale.

20191231_121752.jpg Local club Wisconsin Sportsmans Association hosted the annual Ring in the New Year event (shooting steel for a few hours). Good fun and great not having to make my way into the office this morning. :headspinning:

Crappy pic, but pics or it didn't happen!

new vortex viper scope for my browning xbolt long range..trying a dead hold. No reason I can't get at least 1000 yards with 6.5 creed.

Yeah a thousand with a creed... It can do 1400 I hear. You wanna know what impressed me? That Jerry guy on YouTube hitting a balloon at 1000 yards with a 9mm Luger.

absolutely. And outside.
Looks like he's got himself a lifetime supply of ammo, too.

Used to be a fair shot when I could see.
Bought a stock military surplus AK Vietnam issue with folding stock and short barrel [18in. ?] The Chinese made several thousand AK's chambered for captured US ammo, this was 5.56 rather than standard 7.62
Mounted surplus 4x scope. [25 bucks]
shot from 200yds after sight in at 25yd.

X shot was just to put on on the paper. 85 degrees and the barrel heats up rapidly as you all know, hindering accuracy. Did not wait 5 minutes between shot like I should have when sighting in.
First 5 bit low I was sighting in and adjusting. all shot groups numbered and circled.
2nd 5 on the money but I pulled a bit. These were fired from simple sand bag/rest

3rd group off hand, leaning on post at diamond low left. Any on 'em would be kill shots.
Not bad for a clunky military issue short barrel weapon. When finished barrel so hot you could not touch. Sizzled when spit on.

Had not touched a gun in 15yrs, went shooting with my Glock .45 carry pistol last year in Chi town. [model 21] has over 50,000round through it.
Warm up 1 clip. Then rapid fire standing 2nd 12 round clip. Not bad for 68yr old blind man at 25yrd. Back in the day you could cover that group with a quarter.

Always wanted to shoot one of those fancy accurate weapons. But I sleep well knowing I can center shot an intruder, due to years of muscle memory repetition.

But I did get to go "Elvis" that time to a TV on TV....LOL:)

I don't have a gun but I have this rocket called "Blackrock Desert Eagle." It's actually built but I just haven't taken any actual pics of it.

Upper fins are silhouette of Blackrock Mountain.

Dang Jim, you get those groups with a pistol from 25 yards!?

In the area of weightlifting and strength training, being described as having T-Rex arms is not a compliment. LOL!

T-Rex legs are quite another matter.

T-Rex is also the name given to a series of high caliber cartridges, and a firearms company. Not the stubby arms there!
