And there goes Mr. Flutter. Murphy’s evil brother... This big ol’ rocket was subsonic too.

She’s already built. Time will tell

I forgot who flew this thing on I motors and it worked out. It was earlier in this thread and I’m too lazy to go back and look

Thank you for all the kind words!

This wasn’t a crazy project, not an engineering marvel, simply a kit with a few mods (Tim51, that tech decal is included in the kit. How cool is that?!) but it was fun and, somehow, inexpensive.

The final weight with recovery system installed is exactly two pounds - 32oz on the dot.

I’ll be sure to let you all know how she fly’s.

That would be me...Just a FYI:

Here is my WartHog [extended DD] which uses same exact fins.
Main reason we can get away with using larger than design motors.... is the scale detail built into them.
Airfoiled, buttress fillets, and a leading edge cuff that stiffens fin. These are stiff as hades for plastic fins.
CA for all glue, epoxy tiny fillets so paint would seal and many. many flights.
So Theory can take comfort in using motor choice if his glue holds up.....lol [just kidding]

H-165 and H-238's are barely H motors and have quick high thrust, not lingering in low mach regime for several seconds, where flutter gets nasty. These motors are "bang" and it's over with. Mine ate H-i65's

You young bucks are cut from different cloth than us old guys. I come from an era where rockets were fledgling industry.Yes there were/are calculations , but to really find out limitations you pushed stuff to the limits and BROKE it, then you knew how far you could go.
You can take 5 peeps, give them the same experiment, with same calculations/materials and designs, still get 5 DIFFERENT results.
There in lies the rub!

Theory you have done a fine construction job with your project, now all that lies ahead is the FUN!
Push the little critter hard and see what it will do.
What ever the result....you will smile all day. Flutter...shutter..utter.....mutter butter...just have a good time doing it.
This ya can take to the bank.

Have fun, fly 'em high!

Yes they are. I'm finishing a G Force right now and I liked the build so I figured I'd try another Aerotech rocket and since it was on sale it was an easy decision.
