I took 2 2x6 one was a base that the other 2x6 can be mounted onto it so it can tilt. Then I just bought a cheap saw horse. at launches I would attach the base to the saw horse and then tilt the entire pad. The blast defectors where just 4-1/2 cutoff disks that you can get a pack at harbor frieght for 5 bucks.

I like the cutff wheel idea. How well do they hold up? Maybe if Ya have space, a grinding wheel in lieu? 5/8" arbor being the standard leaves allotta options...

I should launch there. Its a lot closer than Lucerne dry lake. Whats the largest motor you can fly? I was just considering HPR on 29's
Single G normally. Smaller during the renaissance fair.
I haven't been to any official launches at Lucerne but we launch when we camp out there.

I am building another club pad or rack. I will post the design soon. I building one that will take rods and mini/micro rails.

I am going to start with a 4 pad and expand it to 8.

Followup to my post #4; here is a picture of the end of the launch pad...the U-bent iron strap is painted blue (extends under pad #1). The lazy Susan bearing is on the other end of the 12' long 2x4 (second photo). The short piece of 2x4 at right angles to the long one presents enough wood to secure all four holes of the lazy Susan bearing, and has two T-brackets for rigidity.

Sorry for the photos...these were taken in about 1987 with a 110 instamatic camera :)
