I have become aware that I will be getting a new camera/video thing-a-ma-jig from Santa this Christmas.
Since I can put a cutting edge on a Jello Desert, and remember some time back someone asked about sharpening Xacto blades.
Would there be any interest in demonstrating and techniques used to sharpening things?
I'll do the Xacto blades which requires very little of investment.
If interested, reply with a request and I'll see what I can do.
I don't have a tooth setter so please, no saws.

The new camera is a powerhouse in a small package.
It requires an SD card larger than I have on hand.
I tried the 128mb cards I have and it couldn't format the card to the camera. Must be too small.
I'll have to buy one with my next check after the first.
Hopefully I can find a sale on one or 2. I know the one's I have were about $20 each when I got them.
32gb is recommended, so that might be one heck of chunk of change!
Soon as I can I will Xacto blade sharpening thing going.

Going price for a 32GB microSD card is about $7 - $9. I recommend getting one with a little "10" in a circle on it. These are high speed rated and will let you take shots quickly.

Just as an example, here is one on Amazon ($9):
https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-microSDXC-Memory-Adapter/dp/B073JWXGNT/ref=sr_1_4?crid=179Z158UPQLZB&keywords=32gb+micro+sd+card&qid=1577330339&sprefix=32gb,aps,200&sr=8-4

Here's one even cheaper (~$5):
https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-32G...rd&qid=1577330515&sprefix=32gb,aps,200&sr=8-5

I get 5.3 hours of 1080p video on a 64GB card. 4K video will only give about an hour and fills 10TB disks fast:eek:

I gotta read more of the manual...
I got as far as it's rated for 64gb cards, but 32 was recommended.
I ordered 2 sets of 2, 2 different brands. Both have the 10 in the circle.
I have no idea what the resolution is yet. Hopefully, there are settings...

Which camera? I am finding a lot of out of stock stuff, 808, Mobius and 838 while shopping.

Here it is on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/AbergBest-Re...=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B07BHG4HYM This is a cheap still camera that can take video. Probably 1080p or lower. The digital zoom just duplicates pixels reducing the quality. This will be OK for an onboard camera, not for decent quality ground video. You really need optical zoom for ground based video. You will need a class 10 SD card for video and burst stills.

Mine's black, but it's got to be better than my HP M305 at 3.2MP.
Even on the best setting video is jumpy and really, really grainy.
It's close to 20 years old, if not more.
Have several video's of our son with just started to walk, he turned 17 on the 4th.
Pictures are decent though. It's what I've use for posting here.

I need some SD Card help.
These is what I ordered.
#1 and #2
After reading a bit of the manual, I should have ordered 64gb cards, but a quick read they said recommended 32's, so that's what I did on the quick.
Now I'm looking at 64gb cards and going to use my 1 week trial of Prime for free returns and return 2 of the 32's.
I can still use the 32's (I think) in my HP camera) for just taking pictures, though it eats Energizers AA's on about 12 to 15 pics.
Need to find a adapter so I can plug it right into the wall.
So I've noticed a U on 64 cards with the number 1 or 3 in them and have no idea what this means.
So I picked out links to 2 in hopes someone can tell me what to get that works best with the camera.
Thank You Kindly in advance to anyone that can help.
#3 and #4 and #5 (64gb)
I figure the mb listed on the cards is the transfer rate?
Higher the number the higher price, anyways. Not that important to me I don't think.
Slower is better and more accurate, maybe?

A couple thoughts:
The number in the little U represents a video speed class (3 is better/faster than 1). I think 3 means it can handle 4k video whereas a 1 can only handle 1080p.

Do you really need to return the cards? The ones you bought should work in most any device I think. Unless you are going on walkabout somewhere the difference in memory size won't matter; your applications will probably only use a fraction of a 32Gb card before transferring to a computer.

Also, if you do return them and buy something else, consider buying microSD cards instead of full size. Micro cards usually come with an adaptor to fit full size SD format, but the tiny micro cards can be used in lots of devices that don't have space for full size SD cards. For example keychain cameras use microSD cards only.

I use micro-SD cards all the time for Raspberry Pi, Arduino, etc. Handy to have around!

I'm sticking with the 32's for right now.
I'm not sure of the problem, but it seams the batteries may be too old?
I've had one on the charger for 24 hours and still hasn't gained much.
Tried the other one for 14 hours straight.
Maybe that was the reason the thing wouldn't format my smaller SD cards?
The manual was written for 7/XP and Vista!
Requirements are 800MHZ Processor and 512MB RAM!
Could these batteries be 20 years old, and just bad?
Wife got it for me through the Christmas Program from donations made to the Salvation Army.
I wonder if I can even get replacement batteries?

I didn't find an online manual for this camera (there are MANY bad reviews of the camera, I'm sorry to say) but I did find an unboxing video that showed the battery pretty clearly. Looks like an NP-20, supplied as a 550mAh version. That's a very low capacity battery. Most NP-20 format batteries I've seen are 1200mAh. Such as these:

https://www.amazon.com/DSTE-Replace...onics&sprefix=NP-20+li,electronics,165&sr=1-5
Or these:
https://www.amazon.com/Kastar-Batte...onics&sprefix=NP-20+li,electronics,165&sr=1-4

However, I'm not suggesting that you buy any of these. Even a 550mAh battery should hold enough charge to format the card and take a few pictures. I suspect the charging circuitry is poor, or some other problem.

If you want to invest more money in this camera, you could spend $13 on this:

https://www.amazon.com/Kastar-Batte...onics&sprefix=NP-20+li,electronics,165&sr=1-7

It comes with two 1200mAh batteries and a charger. However, I'm not sure if putting more money into this camera is necessarily the wisest move. I know it was a gift and money is tight.

Hey Marc, What is the name of that rocket you have on your profile? IS there a rocketsim OR for that one?

After several attempts at reading the manual and searching through things on the camera that WAS NOT in the manual...
I've figured out how to format the SD cards.
Frustration really got the best of me as I tried to figure out how to switch from Pictures to Video.
Finally, stumbling onto it by accident I am able to make the video.
I understand that video's have to uploaded to you tube, not directly here.
Is that correct?
If so, is there someone willing to post it on you tube for me?
And, after trying to do this while holding the camera, it's not possible.
So I have to con my wife into hold the camera for me.
Hoping when she returns home from visiting with her friend, she will help.
Should have it done today.
It might need some editing, which I have not a clue on how to do.
So might need some help with that as well.
Sorry for the long wait time.
