Just a reminder that this weekend's launch (August 10-11) has been canceled. Our next launch will be Labor Day Weekend Freedom Launch: August 31-September 2.

Hello, my name is William Lane, I am the Community Outreach Manager for the Clemson Rocket Engineers, a competitive high power rocketry team. I am trying to get in touch with you all, I have already tried various websites and contact us forms, but have yet to have any luck, which is what brought me here. I am reaching out to you all today to discuss a possible outreach day at the beginning of the 2020 season, in which our team sets up a tent where we will be open to discussing our team and rocketry with the community. We will also more than likely be launching a high powered rocket, which we refer to as our intermediate rocket. If you all are open to this idea, please e-mail me at [email protected] and we can further discuss dates and logistics.

I look forward to speaking with you all,

William Lane

William,

come down to Camden over Labor Day weekend to get e feel for the launching grounds :)

By the way, are you guys open to the public to get a glimpse of the project(s)? Greenville isn't too far a way ;)

Leo, who will be coming in from Munich for a nice vacation flying rockets in SC :D

Leo,

Unfortunately I will not be able to make it down on Labor day weekend, as I have to work. We are always open to discussing a time to show off our workspace, however, it is early in the year and right now it wouldn't be very exciting as we have no projects going on. I would recommend getting in contact with us a little later in the academic year in order to potentially catch us in the middle of one of our many exciting projects. We are eager to get to know our community and share what we do with all who are interested!

Talk soon,

William Lane

Leo,
I hope to be there on Sunday. I hope you will be there, too. Long time, my friend!

That's a shame that you can't make it. Good luck on your projects! Maybe we get to see some of the projects in action at some point.

Made it in last evening. Now working on my "jetlag" HAHAHA ;)

Would be great to see you on Sunday!!

Launch is still a go, but we might not have Friday setup. Stay tuned.

I will be there Saturday. Have to work 2nd Friday. I have my Sirus Saturn V planned and my 7.5 inch Patriot on an M. Ofcourse I will also be fly at least one V2 LOL

Freedom launch is a go for this weekend with several stipulations:

1. Do not setup on the field until after 10 am Saturday.
2. Fly early because the weather may force us to shut down early. Monday is specifically at risk.

We look forward to seeing you on the field.

We are go for launch November 9-10. We waited to post this until tonight so we could check the field conditions. We may encounter some mud.

Set up for the day begins at 10 am. Range is open until 30 minutes before sunset.

Any help with set up and tear down is greatly appreciated!

Having my morning coffee and getting ready to hit the road.

Perfect weather although a bit on the chilly side. Lots of 24 and 29 mm Estes catos. First cold weather launch and most of the catos were D12, E12, and F15 motors. All were normal until the burning front reached the case then fireball out the front :(

Concur. It was a great day. Hopefully a little warmer tomorrow.

New coins to assist in getting participation with tear down.

Freedom Launch is canceled for May. We must be responsible. We are trying to schedule a launch in the near future. Please be patient.

Ok, in 6 minutes, the hate emails have flowed in. If you want to hate, the elections are in November, volunteer to serve.

I was looking very much forward to attending the event, however.....
Intelligent and common sense move from the Club Leadership. With lots of people on the field, having to stay in hotels and eat out it's just too risky. It only takes on person..... Sadly we are not home free yet, by far.

Sorry to hear about the hate mail. Bet a dollar to the doughnut none of them will serve.

Most show up, fly on day and leave. Thanks.

The funny part is: Elections are in November and I will be I once again run unopposed.

I want to explain how we came to this decision. I called the local health officials I know from my experience with GA and SC. All indicated we should limit the launch of 10 people or less with a single day launch (no hotels and no restaurants). After careful consideration, I pulled the plug last night because it is not worth the risk. It was purely a risk vs benefit decision.

Could you live with a single death or hospitalization?

We will plan for June or July and try to come up with a better way to limit contact and have a cardless - no contact RSO-LCO system.
