I would imagine this ship may have already sailed, but any chance of using slightly beefier tubing, like LOC 2.56" tubing?
In either event, awaiting details with great anticipation.
I get most of my stuff from Bill. As for the nose cones I turn those on the lathe myself so they can be as scale as possible. Thank you for your help.BT-80H from Balsa Machining Service, its dold in 34" lengths, they also have a selection of balsa nosecones to fit it.
This will be built the same way as the smaller version. Beta build starts this Monday. Will start with the lathe and make up the nose cone and boat tail. Plans are 1:1 I'm holding this will be a nice size.

I am currently working on his smaller X-15 rocket.
Some of the parts on his first orders were not cut/marked correctly.
A simple email to Steve and he fixed the problem pronto.
Do not be afraid to order from him. He is a stand up guy.
After I finish this build I think I will be getting this bigger one. And maybe the delta wing one also looks interesting.
I just love this era of rocket planes. Wish someone would offer the iconic X-1
Steve, is there room for a screw on motor retainer?Nope just the butt end of a Aerotech 29 mm reload casing.
The aluminum ones or the plastic?Retainers are inbound from E-Rockets. There is just room to screw on the cap.

Glad to hear that more X planes in the works. Hope they will also be of the smaller size to make them more affordableThank you so much Robert for the kind words. It's funny you should mention the X-1. I'm planning a whole series of X-planes as I love that whole era of planes. The problem is it will have to be an epoxy glass fuse. It will cost more to produce and take more time but I'm going to do it I swear.
