Teddy is was a super day at MWP. A little chilly but almost no wind.

Gary & Miki

Gee Gary,,
You could've told me it was terrible and no good and you should be glad you missed it..
It's still bad enough to miss the festivities.. lol..

Question- did those kids with the really large rocket (was ground tested early afternoon sat) end up flying it? How did it go?

Yes they did it was almost the last flight of the day. Boost was perfect. The main came out at the top. Rocket drifted North a good distance. I hope they found it.

Any idea what motor was in that? it had a bend when they were carrying it out to the field for ground testing. Was hoping it wouldn't fold in half underneath thrust :)

Man, I am totally bummed I had to bow out at the last moment. Sometimes life is a pain.
I am glad you guys had a great time and good flying.

@ gary7 & Stable1: Gorgeous pics. Thx!

See y'all at MMWP next year.

Hey everyone!
What a great weekend. My feet hurt, I just want to sleep, but I'm thrilled to have checked off another MWP (that's only number 6 for me). I've posted pictures of the raffle prize winners on our website under "Midwest Power" (https://sites.google.com/view/qcrs/MWP)
Looking at all these pictures, it would be awesome if people would be willing to share those with QCRS. I can post them in a similar style as the raffle winners. If you're willing, please e-mail the photos to [email protected]

Why wait until next year? There's a QCRS launch on Dec 14th. :)

Hahahahaha,,
Yeah,, ok Glen,, lol..
I'll make you a deal,,
If I come out to the next QCRS launch,
will you come to a launch in Potter NY ??
I'm at their launches every month..

Comon man,, cough it up,, lol..

You comin ??

Ethanol is actually a lousy freezing point suppressor. Use higher proof.
Everclear?

Can it even be considered pear at that point? :)

Oh yes. Pear is most flavorful between 150 and 160. It’s a bit different from other things where the flavor hangs out at lower proof.

I suppose that most pears couldn’t be considered rocket fuel.

Have I told you my idea for a potassium meta-bisulfite / peracetic acid liquid/solid hybrid motor?

9-5 you ask? That was the standard daily open range.... except, I think that we're usually open only till about 3 on Sunday, unless we've had two bad days of flying, then we've stayed a bit later on Sundays to help out folks.

And speaking of sundown, here's a pic taken by Amy Howell from the LCO table looking out at the last rockets being loaded on the pads on Saturday as the sun was setting in the west. Its a beautiful pic. Amy was pushing the buttons on the LCU-64x controller owned by QCRS for the last session of the day.

Thanks to Amy and all the other volunteers who made MWP-17 possible.

Brad
