So I used rocketpoxy for the first time. Results were okayish. Nowhere near as good as some of the stuff i've seen on here but not awful either. The epoxy was black and so was the fiberglass, and I was doing work in a poorly lit garage. Unfortunately there are a couple of small spatters I missed, and now they're dried on to the fin edge. So what's the best way to remove them? Sanding? Would a heat gun work? They're a few inches from the fillet so I think I could safely hear them without affecting that joint. How hot can G10 get?

Heat will soften epoxy, do it slowly and you can get it soft without damage to paint nor glass. Take a new exacto knife and should be able to peel the smudge, splatter right off. If careful, the clear coat will hide any scratches in the black glass.

Update for anyone who happens to be as messy as me. The epoxy had cured for about 3 days, and a razor blade alone wasn't popping it off. What worked quite well was prodding it while heating it with a heating gun. Without much difficulty I was able to find the point where the epoxy starts breaking down without harming the fiberglass.

Glad Ya'll figured it out since my first thought was a hammer...
