Following about 3/4 of a friendly game of netball at work I managed to dislocated my shoulder. Had to go to hospital to get it back in :(. Currently waiting for the bill and discharge.
Hey Ozzie, hope you're feeling better.

Today I replaced a broken windshield washer pump. Dealer wouldn't pass the car for a safety inspection and wanted $200+ to install a new one. Bought a replacement pump from Rockauto for $62 plus shipping. Chilton's manual said I would have to drop the bumper to access the pump but I was able to loosen a couple of plastic shrouds underneath and gain enough access (barely).
As I was finishing up the mailman delivered my order from Amazon: two new windshield wiper blades. Now the blades and washer are working like new. Made an appointment at Midas for a safety inspection tomorrow morning.

Just finished crawling around under the house to put a water outlet for a new fridge that is arriving in a week or so. I really don't like crawling around under houses anymore.
I know what you mean, but a different thing over my head. I can manage small jobs around the house of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, etc. I'd rather do anything other than stick me head into kitchen or bathroom cabinets yet somehow I constantly find myself with my head under sinks.

Productive day so far, cleaned the maintenance hangar after night shift had their cars parked inside to thaw out and then completed 2.5 hours of CEUs. After 18 hours weathered in yesterday, I'm curious what will happen today.

I took a couple boards from some shelving my brother was throwing away, added a few screws, some staples, and some carpet scraps I found in our crawl space, and... this dog ramp happened.

Now I just have to convince the dog that it isn't scary.IMG_20191110_212519821.jpeg

Do you happen to have a cat too? I've never met a cat who wouldn't be up that right away.
Yeah the cat's won't mind using it all, but they don't have any trouble jumping that far. Our small dog, a puggle, has hurt his back a couple of times jumping up/down/over things so as much as he *wants* to jump up on the bed, he often doesn't. I had a set of stairs that I got cheap, but they were really made for a dachshund or something tiny and the stairs were too narrow for him.

Tricked a feral cat to come into the house. She's been hanging around the back porch where we feed her (and other ferals). We trap them, take them to the vet to be fixed, then release them (except for Dale, the extremely-friendly gray and white kitten who was not released but is now our third permanent house-creature).

Replaced a dead fridge evaporator fan motor with a new one that came in the mail today. Thought I would have to buy a new fridge but took a chance on this working. Freezer and fridge are now cold again. Saved about $630.
Hmmm, maybe I should buy more rockets?

Great job, fixing it instead of trashing it. Glad you have the skills.

Ha! My skills are knowing how to use a screwdriver and socket wrench. The rest is diagrams and schematics from the internet.
Wonderful times we live in nowadays.
Yeah I have repaired home appliances using U Tube and Google for info. If your mehanically inclined you can fix almost anything a homeowner would come across.

Don't sell yourself short. Your skills include finding the correct diagrams and schematics on the internet. Your skills include reading and understanding said diagrams and schematics. Your skills include applying the knowledge so gained to the physical world to obtain the desired result. These are not skills to be trivialized or taken for granted.

3 things today,
1. Make 3d printed box for Ender 3 pro power supply ac input adding on-off switch for Raspberry Pi.
2. Watch Formula 1 Race in Brazil - Rooting for Ferrari
3. Watch Eagles vs Patriots game - Rooting for Eagles

Feeding two more stray cats. One is reasonably friendly and will allow me to pet him (definitely a him, his badges of authority are prominent), the other is slightly skittish but not too bad. Once I've gained their trust, I'll abuse it by trapping them and taking them to the vet to be fixed.

Heading home today after evacuating from bushfires nearly two weeks ago. More than a million hectares of NSW bushland and ancient rainforest destroyed in the earliest fire season we have ever had. It isn't even Summer yet. :(

Spent the last fortnight driving back to the farm each day and preparing for a hideously long fire season, moving water around the farm and cutting firebreaks.

Might be able to fly something in a few months if it ever decides to rain again.

California, I feel your pain.

Baked a pie.
(Well, actually heated up a frozen Claim Jumper Dutch Apple Pie).

Bubbling hot from the oven.
Cooked a Thanksgiving meal.
(Well, actually ordered two turkey and ham plate lunches from the local drive in for me and my dad).

With cranberry dressing and stuffing. My first online order. No waiting in long lines.
Watched the Bills destroy the Cowboys and now watching the Saints leading the Falcons in the third quarter.
What a great day. Hope everyone had a terrific Thanksgiving! (Burp).

Rebuild 400TB worth of storage that failed due to multiple disk failures at the same time due to a complete power outage in the data center due to both power feeds failing and the generator not starting....and the power feeds failed because a squirrel shorted across both legs of the campus 15MW feed. Its crazy but I'm sitting here waiting on virtual servers to be restored because of it. There wasn't much left of the squirrel except for carbon.

Ouch, that's a rough holiday pageout.
