Hey everyone, I'm trying to find Tripoli launch sites that have waivers above 19,000 feet, and launches between 11/30 and the end of the year, the one caveat is the weekend of 12/14-12/15 won't work. So realistically with the holiday's I'm thinking only possibility of finding 12/7-12/8 or 12/21-12/22.

I have been searching all over google and found Fly Rockets - Clubs (https://www.flyrockets.com/clubs_db.asp) and the RocketReviews Club finder (https://www.rocketreviews.com/rocketry-clubs.html).

I'm still unable to find a site that is launching those dates with that high of an altitude.

If anyone knows otherwise please let me know!

Edit: If any sites that have that kind of waiver are willing to host a record break launch outside their scheduled launch dates, please let me know ASAP.

Thanks, I did look there but unfortunately the waivers and websites aren't all listed. That's my next task, as daunting as it will be.

Tripoli Phoenix, AZ would work but after speaking with the team we don't think 11/23-11/24 weekend could be pulled off in time, and Cherryfield, ME is 17k the same weekend.

It's looking more like we're going to have handicap the thrust and launch at a 17.5k site like Bayboro on the 21st.

It looks like you're trying all over the country- what exactly are you launching and why is the date so specific?

It's for my University team. We're ready to break an altitude record but 3/5 of us have graduation ceremony the 2nd week of December.

Needs to stay inside the US but cost isn't an issue.

If any sites that have that kind of waiver are willing to host a record break launch outside their scheduled launch dates, please let me know ASAP as I can provide extra info over PM or email.

The Brothers Oregon launch site has a waiver available every weekend Friday through Monday Waiver of 20,460 feet AGL with call in windows to 42,280 feet AGL if there is no military flight activity scheduled. The challenge is the weather and finding a designated club member to drive 500 miles RT to support your flight.

Thank you, I will reach out to them.

Is that something that some sites have done in the past?

We may be be better off trying to convince Phoenix or another southern launch site to host on their off-day.

Is it the MDARS Prefecture?
No.

I guess I misunderstood what you were looking for. FAR is not a prefecture, it's a launch site. I guess you would need to have a prefect or TAP from somewhere witness the flight at FAR.

I reached out to the MDARS Prefect, their website shows FAR, ROC, and another launch site so they might rotate between them.

What record are you intending to set?
Some sites have motor size restrictions in addition to altitude.

M

Complex-Multi-Stage I, so under 640 N-s.

FAR is actually in the process of becoming a Prefecture by 12/21, so that is looking promising.

Does anyone know about MDARS (Mojave Desert Advanced Rocketry Society? Their website only lists the upcoming 11/23 launch. I'm hoping maybe they are doing a December launch as well. The only contact is for the Prefect, who I did reach out to a few days ago with no response.
