Three or four years ago I was at Wild Horse Motorsports Park in Chandler. AZ for the Friday Night Drags. A high end sportier version of the Tesla was there doing consistent 10.02 second 1/4 miles at just under 130 mph.

I've owned this car since 1972. It's a bit more rare than the belly button Camaro or Mustang. For those of you who do not recognize the car, it's a 1970 AMC Javelin SST. Moparama2019.jpg

It looks like an egg on wheels. I'll keep my Stinger.

Well, both are very aerodynamic and I think that’s the point. Nothing but function. These last years brought out a lot of fake vents and large grills and it all looks iffy to me.

I my next car can be a Tesla. Waiting for price to go down on the used market.

In the mean time, I’m driving a small 2007 Mercedes. Here’s why:

- got a great deal and enjoyed renewing everything that needed attention at 150000 miles (suspension, all fluids, brakes, all expected really)

- AWD and V6 in a small car is just the right amount of fun

- it’s automatic with the option to shift (tap) with the stick. I used to swear by manual transmission, but after a while in this one, I just didn’t care anymore and left it in automatic mode. Still nice to have the option.

- most comfortable seat I own.

I do wish there were more station wagons out there. For me, the format is perfect. It's not a mini-van, so no high CG or boxy appearance. It's not a sedan, so it has teh trunk space I want, but is still 'a car'. And most came with a roof-rack / rails.. Sadly, the only ones are now made by BMW, Mazda (rare) and the Ford focus. I have a focus wagon.. We call it the "POS Ford". And that's sad, as this is my 2nd one. The first one, loved it, and it too was a standard. Great car, great size, great format. Too bad they let it go and become a POS!! (Won't buy a 3rd; this one has had 2 alternators, a new battery, faulty wiring, lost a wheel well liner, lost all the heat shields, had the ignition key redone, the paint is peeling all over, and the auto locks; the rear passenger door never locks.. It's loud & bouncy.. The car is only 9 years old, and has just under 100,000 kms on it.. Sad, really..)

You are forgetting wagons by Audi, Mercedes, Volvo, Subaru, Kia, and I am sure there are more. Even my Stinger is a semi-wagon with a large hatch and tons of room, especially with the back seats folded down.

Thank you FlyFalcons. I am amazed that I did forget the Volvo, as that is on my wish list.. XC70! I guess I should have specified a more 'full sized' wagon, than a 'hatch back' type car. I was thinking back tot he 70's & early 80's whn you coudl get a 'boat' to cruise the interstates..

I haven't seen an Audi or Mercedes wagon.. recently. The Subaru is small.

The Impreza is small (though I owned a WRX wagon for 9 years and could fit a 50cc size RC airplane in it), but the Outback is legitimately a volumous car. With more and more vehicles coming out as Crossovers, the line between sedan, wagon, and SUV can get pretty blurry.

Here's the Audi:

Don't forget my ride... The Ford Flex. HUGE cargo area. Or comfortable room for 7. Unfortunately production is ending soon. 3.5 NA V6 is decent at 285hp, or you can bump up to a twin turbo 3.5 V6 with 365hp... Mine looks like this
I average around 20 with the NA V6 and all wheel drive.

2020 Shelby GT500 Review

If you are looking at wagons don't forget the Grand Cherokee. I have had one for 17 years. HO V8 4.7l motor. It has been a good car to me. Good size and doesn't drive like a truck.

Just starting to look at a replacement now. They have some nice 5.6l offerings currently. I have no brand loyalty so I will be looking at lots of possibilities.
