Ok, I had the idea of a weekly challenge. It fell off the rails.

This week: Hole drill jig body tubes. Due next Thursday. Post submissions in this thread. If you don’t have a printer, I can print it for you.

Chuck, a drill guide for tubes? to get holes drilled perpendicular to tubes, and in a specific spot?

To fit any sized BT? Or are there limits?

I am thinking more about to drill 2-3 holes for vents or for rivets.
 
A perfect case for a parameterized openSCAD model. Though I guarantee I can make aluminum ones faster on a lathe than you can print them :)
 
Here's a starting point. It's an OpenSCAD customizer program. The cut-out rectangles in the ring can take any of the four generated drill guides. The notches can be used to make evenly-spaced pencil marks. If you print two rings and lay them flat on a table, you can get vertically aligned marks. With two rings, a table saw, and a fence, you can cut fin slots!

I would like to have drilling jigs to drill cores for grains.
I make the jigs to hold the grains out of phenolic liner material.
A plastic cap with a lip would be nice to fit over the liner and the center for my core drill.

I will extend the challenge for a week. Get them in and earn pride that you won.

I really like the concept here. The challenge is it produces five objects at once. When you generate the STL file it is unprintable. Ideally, there would be options (checkboxes?) for each of the five objects, so you could only select one at a time, render it and create an STL, then move on to the next one. I'm just getting started learning OpenSCAD and am still challenged when it comes to the more complex parametric designs. I can try to update this myself, but am wondering if you or someone else has already done it. TIA.

I load the STL file in my slicer, split the design into separate objects (one button click in PrusaSlicer), flip, rotate and otherwise arrange the pieces on the print bed, export the g-code, and then print.

Ah, well, I don't have a printer, I outsource the printing. I modified the drill guide section to render them one at a time and output an stl file. It's all good.

Nice piece of work. I've generated drill guides for additional bit sizes and fin guides for every size of airframe from 2.1 to 7.5 inch. 12 position for the big airframes (can do 3,4, 6 and 12 fins) and 4 and 6 fin guides for 2.1 and 2.6 inch airframes. Sized the ring for the biggest airframe OD of the major suppliers. Will send out to print as I need them (5.5 inch in progress for my next build - LOC Minie-Magg). I wish I had had these for my build of the NCR Cluster Duck. Getting six fins aligned is a pain.
