Hi. I'm curious as to whether anyone has had success using an Eggtimer Quantum in airstage mode to stage an Aerotech AP motor. It appears that the 7.4V Lipo used by the Quantum is insufficiently powerful to fire the igniter included with the Aerotech F67's. Are there other battery options one can use? Can the Quantum take a 14.8V Lipo? Are there other igniters one can use? Thanks.

Trust me, any 2S LiPo worth a dang will light an Aerotech igniter. It's the current that matters more than the voltage, and a 500 mAH 2S LiPo will source at least 10A, probably more. You're more likely to be limited by the output transistors than the battery.

You can't get more "expert" than that opinion. Thread closed.

Use ematches and pyrodex pellets. Just flew Air Start One (Madcow Trinity) and lit an H97 and two H250's using a PET2+. I have no doubt the Quantum would work.

Thanks for the feedback. I verified that I could fire the igniter using my wiring with just a direct connect to the battery, so I wired in a second deployment only battery for the Quantum and it worked fine.

I've used the Proton to air-start 2 x H 115's. I also used a single 2S 500 mAh battery to run it.
I use Chinese E-matches dipped in BKNO3 and Viton mix.
