Flange mounted retainer on a small tube

Thinking about building 3" rocket with 54mm MMT. If I were to put Aero Pack's 54mm flange mounted retainer, the flange is about the same diameter as the airframe. I.e. no room for fillet on the aft centering ring. Anybody did this? Any issues without fillet? Did you somehow managed to make a fillet? Or should I simply go with "regular" glue-on Aero Pack retainer?
 
You could make a small thrust plate like I did here. This was made from laser cut sections of ply, then bevelled. I sealed it with JB weld slightly diluted with isopropyl alchohol. I used rivet nuts rather than the threaded inserts (I find them easier to position) then secured with JB.thrusplate1.jpegthrustplate2.jpegthrustplate3.jpegcomplete%20retainer%20fitted.jpeg

With the flanged retainer you don’t need a fillet on the back side, all the thrust load is going forward. If you have TTW fins you’ll have a heap of strength already in that area.
 
Umm...you mean there are other reasons besides looks..? [emoji4] Seriously, I like the flange retainers because they can be swapped between rockets, salvaged after a cato etc. That, and, err.. looks.
It's not hard at all to swap to another rocket with the glue on type. It's what you like that is all that matters.
