Hi there fairly new to the sport and just getting into high power.
Have bought a T3 tracker from missile works, whats the best software to use with it.
I understand it sends a full nmea stream so lots of usable data.

+1 for rocket locator on android devices.

It just had an update that fixed the data tags and gps maps integration too!

rocket locator is ok, be even beter if i could run it on my laptop (bigger screen) am playing round with emulators but no joy yet. was sorta hoping there was somthing better out there.
visual gps just seems to give me the raw data, lots of it but no real way to use it.

How do you want to use it?

VisualGPS doesn't do much. You pretty much have to copy and paste the NMEA sentences into other software for additional processing.

Ublox ucenter does a lot more, but the T3 won't connect for me in this software.

GPS Rocket Locator on an Android phone is the easiest as long as the bluetooth module works on your receiver to pipe the strings to your Android device. Some Ham APRS software can be hacked to use the local GPS port to display your rocket.
Some of the maps are nicer appearing but not necessary to get a rocket back. I once made the two dots come together and recovered without a map display. Kurt
