Crashed my Public Enemy Hojo and now I’m looking for another if anyone has one to sell. Paid $95 for mine earlier this year so I won’t go much more over that.

Not to hijack the thread, but I too would love to find a Public Enemy HoJo...and I might be willing to go a little higher than what I paid for the last one. :)

But Arsenal78 asked first--so fair is fair.

Do you have any images? It will be hard to find, but the nose cone probably could be 3d printed.

I have an OpenRocket file but I wouldn’t trust a printed nose this size and how much power I put in it.

Hmm, have you ever flown a PETG nose cone? It will take Mach.

How big of a motor are you going to use. I have flew K motors with 3d fin can a number of times never failed to yet. If done right I was no reason why a nose cone would fail.

Hojo is particularly well suited to this as it can easily be printed to take a length of glue-in coupler.

But nobody sells an 18” coupler anymore which is what it needs to run the length of the nose and act as a shoulder.

Public Missiles and Always Ready Rocketry sell full-length couplers. I bet you can special-order one in paper or fiberglass from somewhere too.

The original used two 4 inch plastic nose cone cut and glued together. I actually got my level one cert on one in 2001. They were probably PML nose cones. The kit would be very easily cloned.

The bottom half has a lip like a boattail that connects to the upper half.

The image above is a photo of Arsenal78's rocket (I believe). Found it when doing a Google image search of this kit. To my untrained eye, this kit doesn't look scale to the prototype...but maybe it is.

I'd love to find an original, or clone this one. Nice looking rocket!!!

Yes that is mine. It seems accurate in size on the nose cone but Alex Boyce (Boyce Aerospace) did claim the nose was out of scale. I don’t much care on the subject.

It seems longer and thiner than the prototype--but I'm with you. It is instantly recognizable as a HoJo. Good enough for me! Great looking model, you did a really nice job.

Hope we both get the chance to build another.

Found a picture online of a displayed Honest John at an Airforce Space and Missile Museum. Looks like the kit

The kit is labeled as sport scale so it’s definitely not true to scale but I think stability is the main issue with scale stuff, example being the Phoenix missile.

The Public Enemy nose was over a pound by itself lol. I found a file on Thingiverse for an Honest John for a PML 2.5” tube that I upscaled to a 3”. Printing the lower half atm in Esun PLA+.

Nice! Please keep us informed on how that works out. If you're willing to share the files, I'd love to have one printed as well. No 3-D printing capability here, but had good luck using third-party options in the past via Thingiverse and other sites.

I've lusted after a Public Enemy HoJo (or a clone) for a long time.

Wonder if PML or LOC could work out a repro nose cone for the kit. The rest of the kit is easy to clone as it doesn’t use the scale boattail but the nose is the hardest. The bands and stuff on mine were done by Boyce Aerospace. The spin motors were cast in epoxy or something but they could be printed too.

Test printed a nose. I dare these thick walls to break lol
