Hey everyone... Making an early announcement. Midwest Power 17, hosted by QCRS, will be held Friday, November 15th through Sunday, November 17th, 2019.

We've got a waiver to 15,000' AGL and launch under Tripoli EX rules. We are both a Tripoli and a NAR club, and absolutely everyone is welcome to come and fly! Weather permitting, we'll setup on Thursday, fly from 9a-5p Friday thru Sunday, host a banquet on Saturday evening, and just generally have a great time.
Our launch site and map can be found on our website QCRS.us. There are two hotels in Princeton, IL, that we usually fill that weekend: the Days Inn and the AmericInn (banquet is held at Days Inn).

This is always a great event, and QCRS looks forward to hosting everyone again this year! Let us know what you're planning on bringing and flying.

More information will be posted here, on our website, and in our club newsletter as details develop.
If you have any questions, send them to [email protected].

The year is 2019, and the world is dark and full of misery. People have lost all hope, and feel aimless; without any motivation. They drag themselves from day to day, hoping for only a glimpse of joy.

Nearing thanksgiving, the people feel they have nothing to look forward to. The dreams of their elders have faded. The stories that were once told about a hero fall into the sands of time. The name, the deeds- all lost.

The people in their sadness drag themselves to Midwest Power. They are wishing for just a small experience of happiness. But not even the usually jovial Wildman can dry their tears and raise their hearts.

All of a sudden- there is a murmur among the crowd. Something is happening!!!!

Then, a mighty GOBBLE is heard across the land! Could it be? Has the hero returned?

Indeed, it has! A flame shoots out, and from the smoke and fire, like the phoenix of old, the turkey rocket rises in the distance!

Forged by the mighty smith Cayemberg, from the fires of Sheboygan, the bringer of light has returned!

And there was much rejoicing.

Thinking of going, lust got my Level 1. Can't seem to find a registration/doesn't work. Do I have to be a club member to fly?

Registration isn’t open yet. Check back here for an announcement when it’s live. You do not need to be a member, but we send out members only announcements and launch updates via email. It’s always encouraged to join the club. Club membership keeps us a club

Joined online, couldn't find the PayPal portal. Filled out the form and mailed a check.

Camping is allowed. The larger campers are usually staggered off to the right hand side of the launch. I would just recommend talking to one of the launch organizers before staking your claim. We will be on site Thursday for set up and should be able to get you in the right direction

I haven't asked off yet, but I should be there thurs->sunday.... hoping to take more volunteer shifts this year.

My idea of camping is no room service.

@RCGuyGR - I would suggest joining Tripoli or NAR before the launch- depending on which one you want to cert with. I'm pretty sure you could join either at the launch before your L1, but it'd be easier to have that out of the way.

Where are you located?

I'd like to attend - but have to see when the two weddings we are attending are... Hopefully it's a bookend.

NAR#107285, Level 1 certified. Sent in membership application and dues already to QCRS. I am located in Lowell, MI, southeast of Grand Rapids.

Just wondering why the change in date. Hope i can still get vacation changed for that weekend.
I assume its from the crops getting in so late, I know we had no control over the weather.

Yes, 100% because of the crops. The farmers told us they would not be ready before then.

Thats what i thought, havent been on the forum for a while and missed this post.
Was kind of shocked to see the dated had changed.
Thanks Jason.

My plans to attend the NARAM night launch in Indiana this past July were spoiled :(:(
Two years without a night launch - I'm having night launch withdrawal symptoms:eek::confused::eek::confused:

You are still having the night launch aren't you o_Oo_Oo_O aren't you??? wellllll:mad:;)

- Oh yeah... when's that registration gonna open?

2016 was the last Night-Launch at MWP.
I even wore my Unicorn outfit and my remote-control light-up shoes!!! (I don't think they fit anymore)

Just got a room - looking forward to coming to my first MWP!

If you call the Days Inn - DO NOT press 5...wait or press 0.

Got my Level 2 on 9/28/19, Joined TRA and QCRS. I am so ready for my first Midwest Power. Actually, my first big event!

Just signed up on the website....

I may have been a bit early on the draw. Hopefully they will figure it out ;)
Wow!! I just posted the registration items. Check and your registration is recorded

Just renewed membership and registered for MWP.

Question: Have the graphics for the shirts and hoodies been finalized?

I have recently gotten back into rockets after a 20 year absents. I'm still into low power but would like to come out and see what Mid and high power are all about.

Are spectators welcomed?

Spectators are definitely welcomed. Bring a comfortable chair and have a good time.
