I don't think that's what the OP is looking for... I presume he means "Born Again Rocketeer".I always assumed that the HPR forum was the BAR forum; does it not stand for Big Ass Rocket?
Gotta be careful over there... lot of people there (who are not over here anymore) have some serious anger management issues.
This whole forum is mostly populated with BARs.
And that's why we have The Watering Hole. Heck, we call it that because so many of us old fart BARs need to water our horses when we get to the launch. (And our clubs can't afford proper watering troughs.)[O]ld people like us just love telling stories.

My observation is that there is more interest in the old kits on the other forum
Just wondering why is there not a BAR forum here on rocketryforum?
And more finger shaking at that dangerous high-powered rocketry folks keep getting at
Mr. Dino-rider.
Better than a Fremen worm rider.Mr. Dino-rider
Another annoyance is how slow that forum is. This forum is active, and I'd guess gets a hundred posts or more a DAY... Sometimes over there it feels like there's no action at all (and getting questions answered can be slow to get). Generally, I try to treat the people there like I'd like to be treated. Respect and gratitude can get you a lot of things. As stated above, there is a huge number of BARs on this forum, maybe a majority. So the specific notion of a BAR subforum makes little sense to me.
However, a reasonable interpretation of the original request would be to have a subforum dedicated to the history of model rocketry. Anecdotes about the old times are quite interesting and generally scattered around various subforums. It would not be a bad thing necessarily to put that all in one place, although at this point I'm not too enthusiastic about having *any* more subforums since there are already so darn many.
YORF certainly does have quite a bit of excellent model rocketry history discussion, and yes some of the warnings above do apply. However, one of the biggest annoyances on YORF is the endless gratuitous bashing of TRF and its members, so let's not fall into that trap over here.
Interesting. There's a full grown man (I assume he's an adult) with an unhealthy obsession with poo over there.

That's the biggest of two reasons I never visit YORF anymore. Every thread he posts in gets at least one mention of poo, and often multiple posts. I actually assumed he was a 12 year old when I first went over there but a 12 year old would have grown out of that by now.Interesting. Couldn't have said it all better myself. It's too bad because there *are* a lot of good people there. That's the biggest of two reasons I never visit YORF anymore. The second reason I avoid it is all the hate of this forum. People who are otherwise fairly nice will become suddenly venomous when the subject of TRF gets brought up. They hate, and I mean HATE, the fact that this forum embraces free enterprise and wants to not only make a profit, but maximize it. None of those people would turn down a pay raise, or for that matter be willing to take a pay cut at their jobs, to show that they despise making money. They seem to think profits are evil, and everything should be provided for free. One of the worst is a farmer in Texas that would probably buy more land if he thought he could plant more cattle (or whatever he farms) and make more money, and wouldn't think twice about it. But he'll type out very, very, very long posts online about how horrible it is that a company bought TRF and dared put ads on here in order to make more money.
I'll peek my head in there about once a year, see that nothing has changed, and come back over here.
