Hi Ho... What Did I Just Win?

Hi Ho! K'Tesh the OpenRocket Chuck Norris here!

I just won an auction on EBay that includes an Estes F.R.O.G.S.* package. I was after the red and black decaled Estes Alpha II that was included. Now, I figured out that F.R.O.G.S stands for "Fun Rocketry Or Great Science" but I don't know what the rest of it is except for the 1984 Estes Catalog.

I'm curious, what was the F.R.O.G.S. package? Looks like some kind of educator's program, but I don't know more. Mind you, it's just after midnight (I'm late for bed), I'm recovering from being ill, I worked today, and I'm working tomorrow.

Hmm, looks like the F.R.O.G.S. kit is the Alpha kit. Just the box is different.

It was an educator's package. Back in the middle part of the last century, I convinced my 5th Grade teacher to order it, and I built the Alpha (although we customized the paint job/decals, including Letraset dry transfer "if found please return to..." information.)

It was a brilliant marketing scheme. No one was going to leave a package labelled with "Your Frogs Enclosed" unopened on their desk!
