Sold 5.5 LOC Phoenix

Bought this kit earlier this year for an L2, got it together minus an Aeropack, and realized it's just too unpredictable to even try to fly. Selling locally as I can't ship it. $150 for it. Can meet around the Atlanta area. Designed for single deployment with a chute release and it has the removable nose weight system.

Scale missiles fly fine as long as you have enough noseweight to move CG well forward of CP. I understand single deploy may not be your thing.

I built it single deploy as I don’t necessarily care for dual deployment unless you’re going 5000+ ft. I realized it was a poor choice for an L2 rocket after getting it. I’m going to use the funds to rebuild my Thor and partially start a full scale ARCAS.

No rush on the pics. Just so you know, I got both my level 1 & 2 with LOCs 4" Phoenix. It flies great. As Andrew has said though, with a J520 in her I have 4lbs of NC weight.

I have 3lbs in the 5.5 and was going to launch it on a J435. OpenRocket has the cal of stability around 1.3 or so. It would cost too much for me to finish it up. I’m planning on probably using AMW’s FiberMax. College budget isn’t fun lol

What reload are you going to use in the FiberMax? I have one built and not flown yet.

Probably the same motor. I don’t think I can buy another J. I bought that one as I was going to cert with it.

I am going to use the AT DMS J270.

Hello, was thinking about getting this kit and installing a permanent 54 mm motor tube, can't fly the 75 in the field where we launch.

You’d have to put a permanent adapter in to downsize the mount. I think LOC made a mistake with this kit and making it a 75mm. You can’t put enough nose weight in it to balance out any 75mm motor.
