Going through some old photos, looking for photos of a specific friend. It got me reminiscing about a number of things, and pondering a very important question....

How many rolls of toilet paper does it take to wrap a Mega Darkstar?

Fortunately, I drive a small SUV, so space isn't an issue.

I really doubt it will be left out on the pad overnight to be decorated

Since I'm babysitting this thing all the way out to Kansas, it may not even be at the field overnight... :D
But maybe I could be bought... :p

It's not a question of whether or not you can be bought but for how much...
As a longtime friend of Adrian... Everyone... I'm tellin ya... He's not cheap. Easy, yes. But cheap, no...

It depends who you are...and/or how you spell your name (IE: Eric, Erik, Erick). I've always found Adrian BOTH cheap AND easy.;) Your mileage may vary!:D

Time for a little R&R! Remove & Replace...on the booster. Remove all the compromised epoxy fillets, fin skins, etc. Replace with new epoxy, carbon fiber, and filler. Fewer words, more photos!

One side:

SuperFil! A wonderful epoxy based, easily sand-able and feather-able filler...

Trim the hangover...then onto the other side!

Remove:

Replace (and filler):

So Eric, how does one trim a hangover? Asking for a friend......

Hair of the Dog! No mimosas or clam diggers...if whiskey did the trip, go right back to the source!

This may be valuable information for LDRS!

Definitely! Make sure to stay plenty hydrated; both day and night when in Kloudbuster Kountry!

IF we're talking about the carbon needle hangover, well then a palm sander works well.....but then again you probably already knew that! ;)

IMG_0396 (1).JPG IMG_0397 (1).JPG IMG_0398 (1).JPG IMG_0399.JPG Well here we are 10 years later and i am right back at it .
under 2 weeks until i leave for the launch.
I just received the upper booster back from Mr. Cayemberg and let me tell you do he does some nice solid carbon work.
today was the first real day with the whole rocket .
I got the new access hatch cut and the altimeter mounting rails glued in place .
Started the finish sanding on both boosters the O Booster should go quickly.
The minimum diameter one needs some work to be paint ready but we should be good .
Next weekend Adrian is coming over and maybe Jason with that much help we should be able to get the finish job done.
i will keep posting as thing s progress.

Busy day today we got all,of the pieces back in one spot and put together and pulled apart after a little sanding and tugging everything seams to moving appropriately.
The parts that needed primer have been primed and the others have been wet sanded to accept new paint .
We pulled the P out of its home and starting the fitment process on it while we are literally waiting for paint to dry.

That thing is BadAss! Due to $ constraints, and LPR qualifications only, I will be cloning an Estes size version to fly on C6-5 BP power. :)

Work continues...
Hey Mike, I haven't moved in just yet... Rent is just too damn high! LoLMVIMG_20190818_110237.jpegMVIMG_20190818_114406.jpeg

Tim I know you have a P8000 for one of the boosters. Will that be in the first stage or the second stage ? I'm interested to see how you are coupling these two beasts together .

It's going to be O motor booster to P motor sustainer.
The booster will take couplers+an extra 2 ft body tube section, then sustainer, then body tubes with couplers and av-bays.
