Hi folks,

I picked up some engines for this weekend's launch at Hobby Lobby. Haven't had to buy engines in more than a year probably. Last time I went there it seemed like the prices had gone up quite a bit and some engines were in two packs at premium prices.

But last night, my HL had everything lower than a C at $5.99 per three (or four) pack, with C and D engines at $7.99. E12 engines were much pricier.

See this picture. Interestingly, one pack of C6-5s was $11.99, despite its identical neighbor being $7.99.

I thought maybe they were doing a clearance (yellow tags) but lots of other items around -most, actually- were yellow tags too.Engine Prices.png
Is $5.99 and $7.99 the new normal for three packs at HL? I usually do an AC Supply CO order once every year or two, but didn't get around to it this year and decided just to buy locally since I fly less these days.

This is the new normal. All the HLs around here are using the yellow-tag pricing for Estes items (around 30% off), including the HL exclusive kits. Can't use 40% off coupon.

Oh, interesting! I bought other more expensive non rocketry items so my coupon went to one of those ; didn't realize the meaning of the yellow tag. Nice to be able to multiple packs at a good discount.

I just bought 3 2-packs of D motors at the HL in Seabrook, NH for 7.99 each. I normally order from AC Supply as well and get them for 7.19. Considering that shipping from AC would be 11.99, this was a bargain!

I was in my local Hobby Lobby earlier checking out the new wares. Among the new kits and lower priced motors, I noticed that they now have a special 3 pack that contains (1)A 8-3 (1) B 6-4 and (1) C 6-5 for $6.99.
Also in stock were D 12-3 two packs and Estes altimeters.
There was also an empty hanger marked for the Mean Machine as well as several of the new offerings. I grabbed a Luna Bug and a pack of B 6-4's while I was there.

Check again. The national pricing is like 5.99 for A, 6.99 for B, and 7.99 for C. They did lower their prices, but they do now allow you to use coupons on them.

Just picked up some E12-4 and E12-6 motors at the Seabrook NH HL. Would be 14.39 each at AC Supply, so not bad.
