URRG August Family Picnic Launch Aug 17 -18

Hi Everyone,

Now that we are past the July Launch it's time to start planning for our URRG Family Picnic Launch, which will be held during the August Launch weekend, (August 17 – 18). I, Mike Dutch, will be your Picnic Coordinator and Rick Barnes will be your Launch Director for this launch.


The picnic will be on Saturday only. And as usual this launch is free for all who come, the only request is that each family, (big, small, or just 1 person), bring a 'dish to pass'. The club will be providing the hot dogs and hamburgers for the picnic.


I will be keeping a list of who's coming, how many will be in each family, and what 'dish to pass' they are bringing. I will also be posting this list and updating it regularly as it grows.

Wow, not there, but this is an example of how cool rocketry folks are. BTW, a decade plus ago M. Dutch donated a PML rocket to my son's high school friend to help him do a Junior L1 certification--such a great "pay it forward" move!!!

Hi Team. There will be a lot of visitors this weekend due to it being our picnic weekend. If your not setting up a tent to fly please park on the right hand side of the drive way just prior to the field main event location.

I just wanted to thank Dutch and all of the club officers for setting up such a great event. The picnic spread was great!

We were lucky that the rain gods held off until after everyone had a chance to eat.

Mike at MAC Performance puts together some nice kits. I flew his custom 3” carbon fiber Rainmaker on a Loki L 1400 to 13,360’ at Mach 1.14! That’s a personal altitude and speed record for me. Thanks Larry for helping me recover the rocket. Thanks to Vern For producing the fabulous “Kate” GPS Tracker. Everyone enjoys the real-time audio flight tracking. We would have never found the rocket in the crops without it.

Hi Everyone. We really had a great weekend and Sundays weather turned out nice all day.
I wanted to say thanks to all the help and support we received.
Welcome aboard to all the new members. We have 15 new members that joined this weekend and two new colleges that joined us and are interested in our CRP Program.
I cant wait for the September launch
