Have any of you tried the screw-together couplers?

erockets sells a 2-part coupler that screws together. I just picked up the new USS Andromeda kit, and am thinking these couplers would be ideal. Transporting long skinny rockets is a pill.

I picked up a few in the BT-60 size a few weeks ago. For the Andromeda you'll need a ST9/BT50 size which I don't see listed.
They even have a Kevlar anchoring slot for your shock cord. They haven't flown yet, but I don't foresee any problems.
Some close-ups for your edification:

Laters.
EDIT: OK, I see that they have at BT-50 size in the "New" section but it's not listed in the Coupler section yet. ID for the BT-50 tube is the same as the ST9 tube: .950". ST9 tube is thicker, so OD is slightly larger.

Because of the size difference between the ST7/BT20 and the ST9/BT50 tubes, we recommend that you use epoxy for your adhesive. Other than that they should be fine. The shock cord mounts the same on the USS Andromeda.

The guys at eRockets worked pretty hard on getting these just right. They work very well.

I need to snag a couple. I was gifted an old beat-up semi-flyable Mean Machine and I’ve been considering how to break it down for transport once it’s fixed up.

I love this idea. I was also thinking that is could be used on a fin can to use multiple motor sizes!
