The Featherweight Tracker iPhone software has an update to Build 103 while we continue to work on the release for LDRS that supports 10Hz flight data download (after recovery). Build 103 is basically build 91 with some minor phone bug fixes, but anyone flying before LDRS should go ahead and install it as the current build 91 will expire before the weekend (Apple does this since it is still distributed via ‘TestFlight’). It does not include any firmware updates so it should not affect trackers already packed in a rocket.

If you haven’t followed recently, Build 91 added voice readout. You can configure the voice to use in the settings page and be sure to not have your ‘silent button’ on your phone. To verify you have voice working, you can go to the settings page. To check out the different voices, scroll the names spinner and it will results in it saying “Featherweight Tracker is go for launch” with the selected voice.

For readouts on the way up, it should call out altitude at ~ 1 Hz. At apogee it announces peak altitude and then switches to announcing descent. For descent, it will announce as it crosses each 1K altitude boundary and what the descent rate is. When it gets below 1K, then it starts announcing as it crosses each 100 ft boundary and includes descent rate again.

Another recent feature is a ‘Run Sim’ button on the tracker configure page. It allows you to set a thrust, length of burn, launch angle and main deployment altitude and clicking ‘start’ will command the tracker to run its simulation. When paired with a Ground Station as well, you will get full voice readouts for the simulation as well as the direction and elevation pointers working on the tracking page.

Let me know if anyone has any problems with the update. I’m back to working on the LDRS build!

Edit: By the way, I'm posting this for Kevin, who has been doing all the recent work on this...

Got the email. Will be sure to update before heading out to Argonia. Thanks for the continuous improvements.
