Since all I've got are free flight gliders I avoid windy days (anything over single-digit) like the plague. I've lost too many to the breezes and trees.
Yep, the Federation even put in an appearance too! Great flights today Frank, regretfully I didn't get to watch too many as it was pretty busy, but the ones I did see were spot on.That's funny, I was just out flying my battlecruiser at the tri-cities launch in washington today
Another flight of my Battlecruiser:
I crashed mine Saturday. This is the second time I've gotten myself confused and launched it in glide mode and had it come over our heads on its back and headed for the ground. This time it was abetted by an apparently not-as-clean-as-I-thought-it-was rail so I didn't manage to recover as i did the first time I did this. It hit the ground under power....but I think it will not be too hard to fix if I can straighten the front three or four inches of the body tube enough. But that will have to wait until after NARAM. Road trip starts Tuesday.
Great flight, very nicely done. Now that's why I love RC; being able to boomerang it back to yourself so your glider doesn't end up in a 60' tree or the next county.
For those who may have an interest in this model, Dynasoar Rocketry is considering a limited run of their Klingon Battlecruiser. [8/12/2019]
This was announced on their Facebook page.
If you are interested, contact them.
What is an inexpensive radio I could get to do rocket gliders with. I guess it needs to be min 3 ch and computer?
Would something like this work
You can contact me at [email protected] if interested, I need four more people to get enough to warrant doing the kit run.
Launch at the Mid-South Rocket Society in Memphis, TN, on 8/20/2022.
A bit hairy at the start, but flew well.
It was good to see you at the field! And thanks for letting me push the launch button! All your r/c gliders were a real treat!
