I have the Mercury/redstone and the SaturnV/ Apolllo Estes kits.
Sure would like a flying Titan/Gemini to complete the herd.
Since back into rocketry I have fallen hard for scale models.

Not currently, although the rumblings are making their way to estes and they may re-release a Gemini Titan in the near/mid future.

What I'd like is a 3.4" tube for a 1/35 scale to match the Mercury Redstone and Mercury Atlas I have

But I want it NOW!
Rockets bring out the 10 year old kid in me.

But I want it NOW!
I couldn't wait either, so I did a clone.
Plans are here:https://www.spacemodeling.org/jimz/estes/k-21.pdf
Including parts list and decal scans.
Parts are available at Erockets.
Hardest part to do is the clear plastic fin unit. Evergreen clear plastic sheets in various thicknesses are available at Hobbylinc, or you may find some at your local Home Depot.
There was a guy who sold clear fin kits for the GT on Ebay, but don't know if that's still there.
And John Pursley used to sell Accur8 vinyl skins for the GT, but again, don't know if he still does.

Kilted, I am going to scratch build a Gemini Titan rocket from parts using the Estes rocket "Rookie". It has plastic fin slots and I hope to add clear plastic fins to it. I have purchased the following parts:

This rocket will have a single engine. I have not built any rockets in about 45 years so I'm really looking forward to this.

Thanks y'all I will sit down and study all your links.
Guess I may have to go the scratch build route.
I have never scratch built a rocket, but I think my modelling skills may be up to the task.

Dang, Great information and those photos of the custom builds got my juices flowing.
It's too hot to fly in Texas right now, may start planning a build.
Thanks y'all

Check into whatever 3D printed Gemini Spacecraft there may be. Get it resized to match the scale you want, if it's not too crazy expensive.

The old original Estes Gemini capsule out of balsa was a PITA to cut out the window areas correctly. If the windows are not done right, it makes the whole model sorta suck. And yeah, as a kid I had one, and yeah, the capsule I made sucked.

Even today, if I was tasked with making a GOOD one using that balsa capsule (not allowed to do 3D print), I'd get several balsa ones to butcher and learn with, do them all, and pick the best (least bad) one. One thing for example, the "flat" part of the windows are not parallel to the base of the spacecraft, they are slanted. But the biggest PITA is that rounded concave area in front of the widows. And trying to get them look identical. "Right one is too small, cut/sand some more. Oops, now it's too big, so widen the left one. Oops now the shapes are mismatched...AGAIN."

I have seen some people post photos of models of Gemini-Titans they took great pride in. But the windows were not so great or even sucked. I didn't comment on those though, since the builders were happy enough with the result. There was no useful reason to point that out unless they asked for comments on how it looked scale-wise or improving for the next one they might build.

So, anyway, unless you have great skills up to the task of doing those windows well, that's why I highly recommend a 3D printed spacecraft.

In this case, part of my skill is recognizing areas I'm weak in that I need to figure out an alternative way to do it, or elect not to build that and go with something else. Not suggesting you avoid building it, go for what interests you to build! Just that's one reason why my first butchered Gemini-Titan remains my last. I appreciate the rocket, but even when Estes did sell the 1980's version with plastic spacecraft, I didn't bother to get one (wish I had, though). Oddly enough, I have had 1/100 Saturn-V kits..... but never built any (got them mostly as collectors items and sold most long ago). I did build the ancient 1/242 scale (BT-60) semi-scale model, and man did THAT suck (in the hobby less than a year, and not the easiest kit to build well. Had a Centuri 1/100 Little Joe-II and that DID turn out pretty well since it was more builder-friendly to do a decent job with, plastic parts and wraps for the body/fins)

I am sure this company is not new to y'all.
Accur8 Products. Looks like they have some very interesting products for scratch building even stuff other that Gemini.
Have quite a few skins in various scales.

If you decide to use the Accur8 vinyl skin I would suggest using the old "couple of drops of dish soap in water" technique of application. Reason is the adhesive is so strong you cannot reposition it once you touch the surface without lifting off the paint. Using slightly soapy water is more forgiving. Don't ask me how I know. Laters.
PS Scratch build = Completely new original design.
Clone build = Reproduction from existing plans/instructions.

Boyce is supposedly in the works for a Gemini kit and an Atlas kit. Not sure how far out they are though but when I asked about possibly making those kits, they said it was in the pipeline.

I also like the old Gemini Titan two engine model K21 kit from Estes. It is true that the kit could be cloned but with all the 3D printed options out there, I would rather do the following. I would order a Boyce Aerospace Gemini capsule nose cone which comes in several sizes but I’m sure he would resize it to meet your needs. I believe they have the best nose cone based on detail, scale look and strength. I opted for BT80 size which is around 1/45 scale to match my 1/45 Little Joe II. I would then consider Shapeways 3D printer interstage and engine nozzles and Accur8 BT80 skin set. They also come with some plans with fin mounting ideas.

A discussion about cloning the K-21 Gemini Titan is in this thread on YORF There is discussion of the centering rings and clear fins. eRockets has the parts, follow the instructions from JimZ and you're all set! BTW the picture of the G-T model on the Estes link where you can vote is my clone :)

I bought the Boyce 4" Gemini capsule. Maybe when I retire, I'll get around to building a kit...:(
But the capsule is awesome.

Cripes Mugs... Yer gonna make me actually open the box??? :p Good thing too. Apparently I also bought a 1/24th Honest John kit too...
Anyhoo, here are some pics. The whole thing weighs ~6.5-6.8 oz depending upon which scale I believe. The post is a little loose to the capsule, but maybe that's for a thicker layer of glue to hold it together. Plus that's where the weight goes for additional weight.

Now if someone made a decent 3d print of the bottom end... I'd be set. That's the part that's intimidating me enough not to get started.

While we're at it, might as well vote for the Mercury Atlas as well.
I'm guessing that since Estes set up a poll, only one of the three is going to be brought back.

Neat, I bought a Mercury Redstone with the intent of scratching an Atlas leaving the G-T as a someday plan. I think I'm going to try to get it to do the stage and a half staging as well. Maybe 24mm core motor and 13mm in the half stage. I got to get it out of the Dream Sim stage and move on it but the bench is cluttered with things that need fixing and finishing at the moment.

Don't forget about BMS they have Gemini nose cones in a variety of sizes. I have the BT 70 and really like it. I made clear fins out of an old acrylic sign I bought at the local office supply store.

Oh, that Boyce engine set looks fantastic! Much better than my scratch attempt with some styrene bits and pieces.
