Have been hitting every HL in the 3 states closest to me, and have loaded up. Now the peg board is very sparse and the kits they do have are "Yellow Tagged" which I am told you can't use the 40% discount coupon for any "Yellow Tagged" items in the store !
Anyone else been told that ?

Yes, I posted that weeks ago (several times).

I didn't read it, I was just firing off and upset that now my good deals at HL are just a small saving.

I understood you. That was sarcasm not intended for you. Not everyone realizes some members don’t get on here every day, or have the time to catch up on a million posts.

It looks like the HL “Your Price” on Estes is approximately 30% off Estes list price - so no more 40% off coupon since you can’t use it on Your Price items. Not the nice savings you could get when you bought a single item but I did like the discounted price on all three motor packs I bought the other day. I haven’t done the math though so did I save as much as buying a single pack at 40% off then making two additional trips for each pack at 40% off? Don’t know...where’s my calculator...

I scored a nice load of clearance about a month ago. I keep checking back for the new HL exclusive kits, but nothing yet.

Those are the two (out of the 8 exclusives) that I like the best. I will most likely get them on my next trip to Hobby Lobby.

I feel sorry for your grandson and your own feelings of embarrassment (giving a defective gift). A few years back I ordered 100 dollar Amazon gift cards packaged in decorated gift boxes for each of my step children and my wife. They were delivered and put under the Christmas tree. When they were opened all 3 were missing their gift cards. Yeah, as the Queen says "we are not amused". Amazon took care of it promptly but it still spoiled the "effect". Look at the packaging and see if there is a serial number. Sounds over the top for a rocket kit but many companies do this to assist in quality control and solving repeated problems. So if there is one snap an image of it and send it along. I bet Estes will provide the missing parts if not the whole kit since many of their kits are made in CHINA and they don't stock the missing parts.

Best of luck and please continue to encourage your grandson to become or stay involved in model rocketry. There is more to life than video games.

The HL exclusives don’t interest me much. The Solo is just the double-ringer with one glider and the others are 3-4FNC variants mostly. The Lunar Bug is cute though, definitely going to grab that one. It’s already making me think about a BT80 or 4” upscale.

Picked up a Cherokee-E for me. and a Tigres and Cadet for the kids. Wanted the Citation Patriot, but the two on the racks had flattened (not completely crushed, but out of round) body tubes. You'd think HL would be a little more careful - doubt they'd come from the factory or warehouse like that. None of the other rockets on the racks had flattened tubes.

Nice new items. No more red-tagged - all the rocket-related things were yellow-tagged and unable to use the 40% coupon.

I use to buy Star Orbiter kits to use for parts. Pretty good deal at 40% off. I managed to pick up the last one they had plus a Majestic and some engines when they were clearanced. All the clearance items are gone now.

I was at Hobby Lobby Wednesday looking for a rocket with a body tube I could use for a 18mm motor mount on my latest build and I saw a few of the new exclusive rockets in totes on the floor. I grabbed up a Cherokee E to see if it uses a BT60 body tube and it doesn't. Now I am getting concerned because I can't buy the Star Orbiter or D12-0 booster engines locally anymore.

Anyway, I went back last night to find another rocket with the right size body tube to use for a … yep, 24 mm motor mount and the new kits were still not on the shelf but they do have an area cleared for them.

There's been a lot of talk about kits but what about engines? Does anyone know if they are going to stock the C11-0 boosters? I am trying to remain hopeful :)

I just learned yesterday that HobLob will no longer stock Estes F15's. Bummer since that was the only way I could buy them without paying the HazMat fee.

2 x E12 = F24.
3 x E12 = G36. (Barely a G)

Yup found the same here yesterday.

Hit one of my two local(-ish) HLs today and the Rocket section was super thin with none of the new stuff. A handful of starter kits were in a basket in the aisle and a single Clearance-tagged Wizard was on a work cart. Everything was priced with the yellow Your Price stickers.

Went in today to use my 40% coupon and found the motors I wanted 75% off. They currently have a variety kits and motors reduced. Got a Pro Series Majestic kit for $12 & change. Got two packs of D12-0 for the CC Express I am finishing up for $2.99. 29mm 2-packs are $6.99. B6-2 was the only 18mm I saw marked down. 1/2A3-2 for 13mm. Not sure if this is national or just Avon Indiana, but worth checking out.
I guess some Hobby Lobby's are better than others. I visited the one in the Holyoke Mall yesterday, found plastic models (and not the big a selection) found 0 rocketry stuff. Asked a employee about rocketry stuff and she thought I was referring to a child's coloring book. Whats up with the music in that place? It reminded me of a funeral parlor or the church service afterwards.

So, here is a logical question . . .

With exclusive"Hobby Lobby" Estes kits, are those the only Estes kits that Hobby Lobby will be carrying in the future ?

No. They are still selling some of the other kits along with some starter sets.

Just got back from Hobby Lobby (Titusville, FL) and scored a Mean Machine for $19.99 (yellow tagged). I had not seen them at HL before. I hope you guys find them as well.

I have been buying B's, Cs, D's and Es at 30% off at HL. The Cherokee E was nice to see. Prices are Great. That is a big help for me. I can easily go through 20
Engines at a launch.

I love the integrity of Hobby Lobby. They stick to their beliefs.

I can't wait to score some of those exclusive kits.
