Yup.
Traveling with the Wildman, so I go on his schedule...

Apparently too late for my six session volunteer parking space so sucking up to get a "small" (literally 6 foot wide) Chrysler 300 luxury vehicle parked beside the Wildman RV or Mike @ MAC Performance who has always been so accommodating in the past!!!

Might be hard to do at Wildman's. I'm driving his Suburban and a trailer holding the Mega two stage... (and hopefully my rockets :D)

Adrian, OK give you the Wildman grunt position, just don't bend over too much o_O.

Have five hotel nights coming to me because of all of the business travel first six month of this year. Haven't redeemed yet so don't know where I'm staying. Let's talk on Thursday will be at Away Cell RSO 2nd slot. You have my cell, right?

Yep.

Is it possible? Yes. Is it likely? No. It really depends on when you plan on showing up? If the answer is Saturday morning, there really could be slim pickings on trailer spaces.
There is a much better option than renting a trailer that no one is talking about. Wichita, KS! You should be looking at hotels near the Wichita Eisenhower Airport. They are plentiful and there are tons of restaurant choices within a mile of any of these hotels. By staying on the south west side of Wichita (that's where the airport is) you are an easy 40-45 minute drive to the Rocket Pasture. I don't know the exact number but there must be 10-12 hotels just north of the airport on or near Kellogg Drive. The restaurants are scattered between the hotels and there is a Walmart there as well.
Checking Yelp, Anthony, KS has 5 restaurants with two of them being McDonalds and Pizza Hut. Harper has the same number.
Anthony is a 18 minute drive to the rocket pasture. Harper is about 25 minutes. Wichita isn't that much further.

This is what I do when attending AirFest (or any other KB launches). From the airport area, a few miles west on US-54, south on Maize Rd. to K-42, south at Suppesville to Argonia and the launch site. About a 45 minute drive. Has always worked well for me.

EDIT: I always book a room at the Woodspring Suites, an "Extended Stay" hotel adjacent to the airport. They have a 7 day minimum stay, which if you have an extra day, works out well. Arrive on Tuesday, head out to the range on Wednesday to get a feel of the range, and possibly lend a hand with final setup(always appreciated), checkout following Tuesday. This is a VERY basic hotel:

Does NOT have:
Breakfast
Daily Maid service
In Room Coffee

Does Have:
Shower
Bed
TV
Large fridge
Microwave
Guest Laundry
Low speed WiFi

I usually bring the basics to get by:
Roll paper towels
Few extra rolls TP
Instant coffee
Coffee cup
Snacks
Drinks

There's a Quick Trip nearby (Maize & Kellogg), that is on the way to the pasture for coffee & b'fast (or just leave a little early and get b'fast from vendors at the pasture). The are plenty of Restaurants nearby the hotel: Rib Crib, Panera, Outback, etc.

Price is good with rooms starting at $275-$300 per WEEK (7 days).

Parking Info...

KLOUDBusters' elves will be out on Saturday, Sunday and Monday prior to LDRS 38 setting up the range and the parking area. We will be ready to accept guests on Tuesday August 27. If you arrive prior to Tuesday, don't get yourself settled in "permanently" - we may need you to relocate.

All flyers must check-in with KLOUDBusters personnel at the registration tent (white 10'X20' canopy) across from the LCO position (Range Head) along the west edge of the Rocket Pasture before parking any vehicle. Look for the flashing yellow strobe - someone will be there with parking details and a placard for authorized flyer parking.

Please observe all instructions from launch official personnel wearing safety vests and directions given on posted signage.

Rocket Pasture parking is limited to LDRS 38 registered flyers, KLOUDBusters members and farmers or landowners only. Others (i.e. spectators) will be parking north of 80th Street.

Thanks - Get ready for an amazing launch experience!

Will the Elves be around for late night arrivals?

LDRS 38 pre-registration continues through August 4, 2019.

Why should you pre-register for LDRS 38?
  • Flyer Fees are discounted by 25% if you pre-register.
  • You can order t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, and hoodies via pre-registration. We will only be ordering extra t-shirts.
  • You can reserve a seat for the meal at the LDRS 38 Banquet and Tripoli BoD Meeting. Limited seating is available.
  • You can pay with a credit card (via PayPal). No credit card capabilities at the field.
  • We will have your packet all ready for you when you check-in at the field. Grab and go registration takes just a couple of minutes when you're pre-registered.
  • LDRS 38 will be the biggest event KLOUDBusters have ever hosted - you don't want to miss it.
August 4 is a "hard stop" for pre-registration. We have to get everything prepared for your arrival. Help us and help yourself - Pre-Register Today.

This is very cool Lance. What an awesome town. Glad I'm staying just down the block. :)
I can't wait to unwind again.

HIGH ALTITUDE SUBMISSIONS FOR LDRS 38
At midnight tonight we will no longer be accepting applications for high altitude flights at LDRS 38. If you plan on a flight above 23,000’AGL, you will need to get the information to me quickly. The form can be found here: https://www.ldrs38.org/documents/KBHiAltApp.doc
If you have submitted an application but have not heard back from us, please send me an email at prefect at Kloudbusters dot org.
See you at the Rocket Pasture,
Bob

Wohoo... I'm back... Decided for Bob's sanity to leave the King Viper III at home. I mean, there's no equipment trailer out in the field to aim for, so the challenge is kinda moot...:rolleyes:
Actually, I forgot that I didn't finish part of the shear pin system. So I'll finish prepping the other AV bays and build the motors I wanna fly for sure, then see how much time is left.

Well damn, I'm bringing mine and was itching for a drag race. I'm skipping the skids as I want to fly the rocket in the same zip code as the flight line. I'm doing a low and slow with 3 x CTI I287SS. I'm just flying motor deploy at apogee.

Bring the damn thing out ya pansy. Bob needs the cardio workout.

hahahahahhahahha,,

ohh man,,

I'm sorry Bob,,

I didn't see you there...

Teddy

I might have three of the paper ones by LOC. I just friction fit with tape. If you want, I’ll see if I can find them.

FINAL REMINDER!!!

LDRS 38 pre-registration continues through TOMORROW August 4, 2019. It's all been said before - it is a big advantage to flyers to pre-register.

Help us and help yourself - Pre-Register Today. The web-site is already programmed to automatically cut-off registration on August 4, 2019.

I'm going out to prep and launch some rockets. Buh-bye.

In less then three weeks, more then two million newtons seconds of AP will start to be consumed. LDRS 38 will have started as around 400 high powered flyers begin to show off their skills.

After fourteen months of planning, this huge event is almost here. If you haven't signed up or are planning to sign up at check in, please reconsider to take one shift of duty on the remaining ones listed and the few additional ones (traffic and trash) that will be shown on the volunteer board at the registration tent. Remember that we are all volunteers and this huge event will only be as good as when everyone gives of their own time.

Yes this event is going to be big. We will all fit and yes there will be some lines at times, but with around 70 pad locations, banks locations that allow for set up continuously, waiting will not be that long.

There will be fellowship, whether you're here for the week or just a day. Projects galore, some that will just make you salivate. Glory or failure awaits one, but in the end, everyone is richer in knowledge and will make a number of new friends. This is what LDRS has always really been for- making new friends and sharing thoughts and ideas before returning home to pass on the knowledge and stories to others.

So double check that need to do list and then make sure you have everything rounded up that you're bringing. Kloudbusters all hope to see you in less then three weeks. Have a save trip as you travel to the rocket mecca of the world.
