Hello all. As most know Dr Zooch has retired from kit production. As usual with my luck with bad timing I chose the right time to get back into rocketry after most of the kits were gone. Since the Saturn 1 SA5 is no longer available (along with the other family of members of the Saturn 1) I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share scans of the instruction sheets and patterns? I would like to scratch build from the plans. I'd be happy to buy the plans from the good doctor but I have had no response from him (in fact I'd buy all the plans for the Sat 1 series). There is a kit on Ebay initially selling for 100 that is excessively priced IMOP.

Thx, Tom

eRockets in Dayton Ohio have taken over production of Dr Zooch kits from Wes - their improved version of the Saturn V kit sells for $30-ish.

They also sell the instructions and most of the specialized parts separately.

Yes, 34 for the Saturn 5. But, not the type of Saturn I am after. I actually communicated with erockets about Dr Zooch plan purchases. Their response was they aren't planning on any new kits this year. So, I may look at some of the build postings for this particular kit and come up with something on my own. Thank you for the suggestion.

Oops, missed that you’re looking for a particular Saturn 1 - though, for future possibilities, Estes has strongly hinted their Saturn 1b Mosel is coming back into production. No timetable even implied though.

I have read that Randy plans on expanding the line of eRockets/Dr. Zooch kits and considering how much chatter there’s been about Saturn 1 models it wouldn’t surprise me to see it make a comeback from there either.

Good luck on your search.
