I'm still getting back into the hobby and building some smaller kits for practice to see how things go.

But I realized that it would be great if I could give some structure to my re-entry into the hobby. I'm not at all ready for the HPR Certification, but I did find NARTREK, which actually looks perfect for me.

Does anyone here have experience with NARTREK? It sounds like I would need to complete the challenges and have a NAR-certified person sign off on the forms.

I have access to a Tripoli local club. Do I need anythings (apart from rockets, engines, etc.)?

I have access to a Tripoli local club.

Check out that site you linked for details on what you'll need. Could even email the NAR if you want.

I'd be willing to wager that the Tripoli club will have some NAR members hanging around too

It is a challenge, and a lot of fun.
Though I haven't gotten around to finishing all of the levels/requirements yet.
But that's the best part, being able to start and stop when ever you want with it.
You just need a witness/timer

First - go back and read this page again - https://www.nar.org/members/nartek-skills-program/
NARTREK requires NAR membership and operates on the honor system. YOU sign-off for your own achievements.

I suggest you download and try the Bronze packet. No cost or obligation- and that will help you get a sense of how the program works.

Ah, thank you. I am a NAR member and I did download the Bronze packet, but in a blazing whiz I just assumed that the multiple signature lines were for "authorization" by another NAR member. It looks like that was a bad inference. Whoops.

So basically, you fly the rockets, attach pictures to the forms and sign them. I see. Well, that's even easier.

I’m starting the NARTREK program, too. It looks like a lot of fun. (Tim Van Milligan over at Apogee even has some pre-selected rockets bundled in packs for the various levels.)

The only thing I need to double check is if it requires the use of your own ground equipment. (Not a big deal, but it would preclude me from doing it at club launches.)

There is a NARTREK "cadet" program for younger members too!!!
No special launch equipment rules - perfectly OK at a club launch... you could even challenge some of your club members to join-in with you.

For some of the challenges you do need signatures of others on the form, e.g., timers on timed flights; on others just your signature with pictures and other requested information. Just read the requirements for each challenge carefully.

I completed Bronze last year, working on Silver this year. I have found it a great program that’s helped me get back into the hobby with an almost 50 year absence. The other help to my return has been joining the local NAR club (WSR703 in my case).

Good luck and enjoy the journey!
