Tripoli Central California's July monthly launch will be on the 20th, which I hear is some kind of anniversary. There will be contests and other special events. So bring your Saturn 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 (just kidding) or other related rockets and have a great time!

Just 1 week till the Apollo 11 50th anniversary launch. Contests! Saturn 5s from the Estes plastic thingy to a 10 inch Polcat kit. And many other flights.

July 20 at the dairy, site of LDRS 37.

If you miss it you will miss it.

Bummed to be missing the TCC July launch this weekend and not get to send up an Estes Saturn V, SEMROC Saturn 1B and Apollo theme-wrapped Super DX3 in tribute. The wrap on the DX3 is taken from the Air & Space Museum 58 ft x 75 ft mural by Robert McCall. The 6-inch wide 50th anniversary sticker on the nose cone came from Mark at Stickershock23 (as did the DX3 wrap). Apparently, I was the first to request it so I paid the set up fee and got a bunch of them. You can spruce up your rockets or put them anywhere else you like - just call Mark and order some.

Hopefully the anniversary celebration will last the rest of the year and I'll get a chance to a launch all three (not at the same time ;-).IMG_2553.jpgIMG_2552.jpgIMG_2551.jpgIMG_2550.jpg

A great launch overall, but it was very hot, and sunny, oh and very hot. Some great flights and also some not so great. Many Saturn 5s, including one from a group of interns from NASA. Alas the center motor on the 10 inch Saturn did not light and it did not get high enough for the parachutes to deploy. Ouch! A local TV station filmed some of the launch, but there is no link yet.

I managed to launch 3 rockets, won 3 raffle prizes, and bought a LOC Graduator kit for $15. And it was very hot.
