Got this from somebody at a DARS launch trying to thin down his build pile.

Decided to do a build on this one. Its is a lot bigger then I thought. Here is the engine mount. I decided to add a Kevlar string to the shock cord. I forgot to put it inside the engine mount to I tried it on the end and anchored it with the green bt50 engine mount ring.

Just a heads up. When installing the coupler/motor mount assembly in the main tube beware of glue grab.
Dry fit first and make sure it's not too tight or binding. You may want to consider white instead of yellow glue.
And position the glue with a dowel just behind the forward stop.
Don't ask me how I know.

I noticed that when putting the main body tubes together. Thx

Just noticed I made both wings the same. Should have been mirror images for right and left side so I had to cut the spar back off and glue it onto the other side. RATS!

I see what you mean now by the mirror image wings, that would be an easy thing to get mixed up. Looking great!

LOOKING GREAT!
I had this kit. I built it.....and on its first launch...I hung it in a tree never to be taken home again! I do have one more of these kits in my closet though......

Say I wold recommend that you paint the internal structure that goes in the scoop first! The final fit is so tight that it will only need a tiny bit of glue. I painted the internal structure before I painted the rocket and it was the last thing I glued on when done (I did mine in black). Also you can do this, if my memory serves, with the motor mount stuff too. The more you paint prior to gluing on the doo-dads the better. I wish I had a photo of my old one. Wow that was a heart breaker...This is a great kit. It will eat F24-W's Great motor for this kit.
Keep posting photos!

This would be another great kit that Estes can bring back....I love this kit.

I have one that is in build purgatory, I prepainted the fins because of an effect I was going for and ran into some issues. Need to get back to it but it is a very cool rocket

I wish I would have read that before I glues it in. It is a bear to mask off for paint

I've got one built that I really messed up on the decals. The construction part of it turned out good. I've got it all sanded down. I'll probably order some stickers from stickershock one day and finish it up.
