Very cool.

Loved this line

“And while most teams worry that their rockets might get stuck in a tree, the students in largely treeless Presidio worry more that theirs might get stuck in Mexico, because one actually had.”

Wow, that is a great article, in spite of a few objections to certain phrasing. This line killed me: "the nearest Home Depot is nearly four hours away, in Odessa".

Great to see that our hobby can lead to some inspiring stories and that the TARC competition is encouraging kids to 'aim high'.

One of proudest moments of the rocketry community occurred when it was learned Shella Condino was told to self-deport herself.
This after she had just won the 2011 Scott Crossfield Aerospace Teacher of the Year Award.
The instant organization to counter this was swift and overwhelming within the rocketry community.
It was truly impressive who members of the rocketry community know and their willingness to use their contacts to correct this injustice.
Later it was claimed that the self-deport message was a system error, and she should have received permanent worker status message.
Great story involving many caring and profoundly nice people.

My favorite part was when they didn't account for humidity! Humidity, what's that? That's a question never heard during a Georgia summer.
