I’m blessed to have my father Ky Michaelson be a huge supporter and part in this project in so many ways.

Question on colored fiberglass. Do you just wetsand with 600-1000 and then clear coat it? Only did one fiberglass kit and it’s a fiberglass Estes Fletcher and this will be my first with colored fiberglass. I’ve attempted Rocketpoxy in the past, though I didn’t enjoy having to wait 15 minutes for it to set up for fillets. I might try it again for this though.

Oh you probably already mentioned this somewhere but what would the cost be for the kit minus recovery?

I wet sanded the entire rocket with 400 grit, to be honest I really didn’t have to sand much, the fillets were perfect and the fiberglass is real smooth, I only had to sand my marks off and around the holes drilled. I always glue my fins in with 10 minute epoxy to start, than create my fillets with rocketpoxy. The kit without recovery is $240 plus $20 for shipping.

Just a heads up, there’s a mistake on the instructions, step 11 and 12 are both written the same

Did I miss something? Post #1 says … $225-$250 for the entire kit

That is what I originally thought 4 months ago before I had really gotten into it, well the recovery stuff is $180 alone, that’d be $70 for the kit... that would make me loose well over well over $100 on every kit and there was no way it could be done. So that is why I’m selling the recovery package for only $100 (45% off) so if that option is chosen it’s basically my cost on the recovery. This mission has been no where cheap for me with all my learning curves.

Buddy, very detailed and well drawn up instructions!
Rocket looks great, with the clear coat!

Thank you! I’m working on the revisions right now with misspelled words and such. These will be printed and included in every kit, hoping for everything to be top notch.

That makes a lot of sense. I totally understand at the outset you were trying to gauge our interest, not commit to advance orders. Some may not want it at the price, but I'm fairly certain you won't be stuck with kits you cannot find a home for.

Ground testing the Miss Riley Rocket with 1.5g black powder, definitely blew it apart in a hurry. Watch it in HD on YouTube to see the detail of the rocket.

I should really start a “rocket savings account” lol. I might have to pass on the kit as I’m pretty much on a college budget which severely limits my flying. Wonder if any vendors have like a payment plan..

Looks like the drogue got a bit caught up on the nosecone during recovery?

Aside from that (incredibly minor thing), looks like a great flight! Stats?

That usually happens when it’s coming down on drogue and the main opens going past the drogue now being the highest object, there’s no way to prevent it but hurts absolutely nothing. Now looking at my photos, it landed with everything in the correct order. Also haven’t pulled the altimeters out yet, but was a spectacular flight!

Yeah I wouldn't worry about it, just something I noticed - Never really had it happen on any of my projects, though I have a tendency to use really small drogues (if I even use a drogue - I plan to fly my Miss Riley drogueless), so the airframe isn't really under it, more out to the side
