Nice!! Very well done! That must have taken a lot of time to get synchronized. The shot-for-shot was a great touch.

I made an Apollo 11 launch video years ago with a Dr. Zooch model. It's not at all based on the actual shots like yours.

I hope you realize that Chet Huntley and David Brinkley were totally against the spending the federal government did on Apollo

Very nicely done.

Sorry, but for me the voice of these things was, is, and will always be Walter Cronkite (CBS). But of course the voice in the last minute or more is from NASA.

Beautiful all around; the builds, the footage, the editing - all superb.
The Saturn V/Apollo liftoff and flight are some of the most majestic things I ever seen (if only on film and television); I could watch it over and over again.
Thanks for putting this together and posting.

Definitely agree on Cronkite! I only went with NBC because they had a few additional angles that I thought made their broadcast more visually interesting.

That was really an awesome piece of editing!

My only complaint is that I would like to have seen that three chute recovery!

If you're going for that level of accuracy, those chutes would only be lowering the tiny command module and not the entire stack. So if he did have three chutes someone would have complained that too much of the rocket was attached.

I finished my Saturn V a little early for the 50th anniversary, so I decided to put a little extra work in to build the launch tower and attempt to recreate the original 1969 NBC launch broadcast of Apollo 11.

Nice video. Starting in 1968 (when I was 10) I would follow every Apollo Saturn I could watch on TV. I remember watching the Apollo 11 launch at a friends house in East Longmeadow MA and then days later trying to stay awake waiting for Neil Armstrong to exit the LEM. All I remember is waking in the morning by my dad with him saying I missed it. Oh so close to watching history being made. I remember watching the preparation for Apollo 11 to re-enter the atmosphere for the big return. Jules Bergman doing a demonstation of the heat shield with a large Apollo capsule model and a Bernzomatic propane torch. Good memories....
