finished exterior fillets on my 29mm MAC build, now to work on the NC area and figure out which fly away guides I need to order

Action Cam 56 Rocket (24mm) at NSL2019 Flying on an Aerotech E30-4 to around 1000 feet. 2nd to the last flight of the trip. Drama as the wind drags this on the ground faster than I can chase it. Some folks in a car grabbed it, thanks!

Accepted TCR's Big Daddy challenge for Sod Blaster. Going for the modified class. Early sims on the M1315 are showing Mach 4 and 40,000 feet, so I'll probably paper the balsa fins. Recovery will remain stock, rubber shock cord and plastic chute. 20190620_132843.jpg

Put a couple of wraps on my Estes #1969 Saturn V in preparation for the July 20th Fiftieth Anniversary Launch event. Decided to use Pacer Formula 560 canopy glue for some of them but the big interstage wrap will get 3M 77 Spray Adhesive.

My Apogee Saturn V ready for decals.

Getting rockets prepped for tomorrows launch. Weather is always a factor in this neck of the woods, but for once it seems the wind gods smile on us. It is rare it gets calm during the day and windy at night, BUT that is exactly what the forecast has settled into consistently for the last couple days.

I took a day off after learning that our 3 day high power launch is likely cancelled due to dry weather.

The day before I successfully tested the deployment channels on my Eggtimer Classic after spending some time searching for shorts and finally getting it to run off of a single 9v battery.

Looks like really good flying weather on Saturday and fantastic on Sunday. What's the source for those weather graphs? I want.

weather.gov

It is the tabular forcast and it can be kind of a pain to get in locked in on your area. It has been the most reliable overall for me personally.
Here is the link directly to our launch site
https://forecast.weather.gov/MapCli...1&textField2=-102.251&site=all&unit=0&dd=&bw=

You will likely have to start at weather.gov, click your location on the US map, next page Click on your spot in the regional map, scroll to the bottom right of the next page to additional resources, finally click on the "Hourly Weather Forcast" tool.

Excited to be going to my first regional launch they my local club, Florida Sportsmodeling Association, will be hosting.

I also plan to launch 14 or so rockets and support our local vendors. I also wanted to thank Randy Broadway over at eRockets.biz for the raffle prizes he sent to support us. Thanks Randy!

I also wanted to thank the president of my local club, Rick Boyette, for making all of this possible. Photo's to follow of the day's events as well as the incredible rockets that people will be bringing out on this sunny and slight breezy day here in Port Saint Lucie, with a ceiling of 15k' AGL.

I hope you all have a great day yourselves!

I'd skip the section of slotted body tube and glue the fins directly to the motor casing. Saves weight.

I finished up my igniter with some help from a friend with a lathe.

Flew a few rockets at a fairly small park today. Mostly small stuff. B's D's and a F.
Old Estes D12s have high CATO rate. Did roast one rocket from it.

Finally got around to building rafters in my office at maker space, nice to get the rockets out of the way instead of constantly moving them to work on others.
