That Mega Menace is so cool. I cant wait to see that puppy go. Two manufactures working together two kits. Is there a discount for the double dose package. I think I am hooked.

Funny you should ask.....Both Tim and I will be running an URRF6 special. Free shipping and no tax if "purchased and picked up on the field". ;)

Hi all,

Just wanted to introduce myself as I’m planning to attend the festival Saturday and Sunday- this will be the first time I’ve been to something like this, I haven’t been so excited for a long time.

I hope to certify for high power, bringing two new high power builds, my excited daughter, her pink unicorn prowler and my reluctant wife.

Any how, looking forward to meeting you all and finally going high power.

You going to use that Mega Menace purchase for your L3 Cert, Larry?

That Mega Menace Weasel would look good in my coop. I bought some raffle tickets if that puppy's up for raffle ill put in that jug. Does it come with a chute or is it a sub surface model and I need a shovel.

Will anyone have a computer with open rocket that would be able to help me if none of the motors I’ve simulated are available to purchase and a last minute sim is needed?
Anyone selling aerotech cases if I end up needing one? I only have a cesaroni and would need a vmax if so but a few of the aerotech motors can work and might be more readily available. It’s probably too late to order anywhere and I got bogged down with work lately.
Do I have to register my 7y/o daughter if she flies low power with me?

Tim from Wildman will be there. Send out a feeler / request; a pre-order if you will.
Ken From Performance Hobbies will also be there. Send him a requests as well.

Many will make (or have already made) a pre-order with Ken or Tim, and will pick up at the event.

Get a motor list from Thrustcurve. You enter in your rocket specs and it'll spit out a list of motors that will work (and ones that won't). It'll spit out a CSV file which you can pull into Excel and sort, manipulate, etc.. A good quick guide. It's what I do..

Tim from Wildman ([email protected]) will be there with a huge selection of Aerotech and CTI motors for you. Shoot him an email if you want to check ahead of time to see what he has. His trailer is usually pretty well stocked.

Teddy from OneBadHawk ([email protected]) will also be there, I think he has just about every Loki motor and casing that is available, that's where I'll be spending my money :)

cheers - mark

Excited to be back. Missed last year; daughter graduated from her undergrad program in San Diego last year. She finished her Master in Science this year and we only watched it online :)

Weather looks really good, too.

Ok all, you will want to read over the link below for details and parking map for URRF 6. This PDF is a great read and will provide you with much information pertaining to this great event.

Thank you to our talented board member, and adjunct publisher Rick Barnes for creating and publishing the URRG / URRF 6 Rocketeer! Great job Rick!!

Due to the size of the PDF I have saved it to Google Drive, here is a link to access the PDF. Any issues let me know. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1hPvWmj13LlTqZ6_OQKC60SmD7G5j_5HJ

I'm getting very, very excited about URRF, and have been organizing the gear.

The "Flying Brick" is all set for my L3 attempt, probably Sat early AM. BFR filed. My son Austin is driving out from Buffalo, for his L3 attempt as well.

I also have an Upscale Deuce's Wild that flies on two J's or two K's 2x54mm CTI. Do I need a BFR for that? I suppose on the two J's it is a "sub-BFR". It has two small airstart motors for show 2x29mm 2grain CTI, fired by a MARSA33. Pix enclosed, but I've added the airstarts since that photo was taken last summer.2017 07 21 MMMSC 031_crop.JPG IMG_20190427_121904446_crop.jpg IMG_20190512_104535224_crop.jpg IMG_20190519_101710210_crop.jpg

Regarding the reluctant wife, The way I got mine on board is that there are a couple of nice hotels and bed and breakfasts arount Penn Yan as well as a few nice restaurants. Also, there are many excellent wineries within about an hours drive from the field. If you spring for some nice accomodations, spend some time at the wineries and have a couple of nice dinners, I think she'll come around. This is our 5th or 6th year coming up there and my wife looks forward to it!

That's great Joe..

I'm coming down to URRF on Sunday to fly my new Eagle Claw 4. I haven't registered yet. So, I'll register on the field. Does anyone know what it will cost to register on Sunday?

Tim Glad you made Ohio. Sleep close to those motors many are counting on them. Well have the light on for you tomorrow when you roll in. It was really nice today. They redisced the field its nice and flat the road is great and the grass is cut. The weather is looking good this is going to be a great launch.

Its going to be a fantastic URRF 6 event this weekend. We have a significant increase in flyers, the weather is looking great, and the field is in amazing condition. See attached photos from last night. A few of the URRG team members marking off the field. Between the conditions of the field, registered fliers, registered BFR's, featured flights, vendors, weather....this is truly going to be a URRF you don't want to miss!! Nice pics Jerry. Man the Weather is looking better and better every time I look. The field is really nice not only did he disc the field he rolled it as well.
Get those bags packed. This is going to be a great launch.

I packed my bags last night pre-flight (and pack the car today)
Zero hour seven AM (tomorrow morning)
And I'm gonna be high as a kite by then
I'll miss the earth so much I'll miss my wife
It's lonely out in space (or on the 401 to the 89 to the 90..
On such a timeless flight (to a timeless event!)

:D :D

Got the car packed (mostly) and getting ready to head out tomorrow morning. The weather forecast is the best I've ever seen for an URRF (or at Potter LDRS), moderate winds IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION, comfortable temperatures, and NO RAIN! Have 5 flights prepped, one two-stage and one three-stage.
