Does anyone else's wife look at them funny if you wet sand in the bathtub?

I'm not talking about using the tub to wet sand, I'm talking about actually getting in a nice warm tub (no bubbles) and sanding away?

My wife thought I'd lost my ever loving mind when I wet sanded my Mega Der Red Max and 4" Goblin nosecones in the tub, but I got a good smooth finish.

There’re two questions here:
1. Does anybody else wet sand their rockets in the tub and
2. If so, does your wife look at you like you’re nuts?

I suspect most of us won’t admit to number one.

My wife always teased me about going to the garage to glass my tube.

No. I’ve used a water hose outside for carbon fiber once. Mom was more horrified of the bright Orange stickers on the motor box orders that showed up at her front porch unannounced. She basically accepted the garage as “Rocket lab”.

Funny quotes from mom,

“This is a house, people live here, you can’t use it entirely as a rocket lab.” Caught sanding rockets on front porch in front of neighbors.

“Is THAT a box of Explosives?!?! ON MY PORCH??????? DREW!!!!”

First time I ordered an I class HPR motor... And don’t tell Hotels about those either else Crazy Jim will chew you out in real life.

Unless it's for SLI, then the hotels know just what to do. Side tangent--the year I went to SLI with the high school team, there was what looked like a church luncheon in the hotel ballroom as about 10 teams were assembling 4"-6" K-L class rockets in the hallway outside the ballroom. One of the little old ladies said to the next one, "I just love Student Launch! It's so exciting to see all these young people," turns to a student team and asks, "What's your experiment, dear?" :)

To the OP's question, I only dry sand. Does that make it better? :p

Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer was prepping vegetables in the shower that he had a garbage disposer installed in..Does that make you weird? Absolutely not, in my mind that is brilliant..With the exception of the "smooth finish" remark;)

I restrained myself from saying "happy ending"
