I really have mixed emotions about Lego stuff that are supposed to represent something "real", even if it's sci-fi like Star Wars. Crude Bizarro shapes, rather than smooth accurate ones like a Plastic model. Yet choices for plastic models are limited, and you have to mail order or go to a hobby shop (which are harder to find month by month) to get plastic models and suitable supplies to build them.

Then there's 3D printing, which solves some issues of Lego, but more of a competitor to Plastic Model kit-makers.

For example, the folks who went nuts over the Lego Saturn-V. Me, if I wanted a Saturn-V to display, I'd have gotten a Monogram 1/144 (like I built at least 3 times as a kid/rocketeer), or a Revell 1/96.

Same for the LM, except that the REALLY SAD thing is that apparently the classic Monogram (later Revell after merger) 1/48 LM that was around for decades (That I also built a few of), is OOP, so mostly available only at places like eBay.
