Moving forward, so no big spoilers from me of the last 4 episodes (just a number of minor spoilers)...

Before season 8 started, there was a facebook rumor that we would see the largest dragon to date on Game of Thrones. Okay, a **minor spoiler** here; the dragons are the same size that they were in season 7.

BUT! There are now two fan theories circulating;

Theory 1) Attached is an image from grab from the all new opening title sequence (which we all know you DO NOT SKIP!!!). The grab is the of band for House Targaryen; note that there are (3) small dragons and (1) large dragon. Also note they are preceded by a comet with a dragons head. This fan theory states that a large wild dragon named Cannibal will awaken from the depths of Dragon Stone and rain fire in the battle to come. This dragon would be the largest dragon yet, rivaling even Balerion. Look up Cannibal on Fire and Ice Wiki. If you remember from S1, a red comet preceded the event of the (3) baby dragons being born...

Theory 2) Dany is the largest dragon we have yet to see... **Mild spoiler** here; Dany is starting to go dark with the huge losses she has sustained this season. And fan theory has it she will release the dragon from her humanly bonds. After all, she is the "Mother of Dragons", and she is the "unburnt" Remember her brother stating that"you would not want to release the dragon do you?" referring to himself. As we know, he was not the dragon, his untimely crown of gold told us this much... Yet Dany managed to walk out of two fires, once with three baby dragons, and the second time with a large Darthraki army. Better yet, read the fan theory here:

So bring it in, who here is a huge fan of the series?

I've been thinking for several seasons that we could end up seeing her go mad. Still, after last night's episode I felt like I needed a smoke. And I don't smoke.

Well, all theories out the window now... What an Episode!
SPOILER!!!!
I think after witnessing the unnecessary and brutal slaughter of commoners and nearly getting killed herself, Arya has a new Queen to kill, the Dragon Queen or, as I now prefer to call her, the vengeful, murderous blonde b***h. There was way too much of a setup for that unless it was intentional misdirection. Jon will then rightly take the throne. He was brought back to life for more than defeating the Night King. His sis will be fine with that and will rule the North.

Or... John and Tyrion both, after looking on in horror at the rain of fire, know that the Queen of Ashes must die. That would leave John as the only heir to the Targaryen dynasty, but he still doesn't want the throne, and the people would not be enamored of the idea of another Targaryen king waiting to go mad. (Not that John would, with his Stark fresh blood, but that wouldn't sway public opinion after what's just happened.) So, lets say that the Targatyen attempt to retake the Iron Throne fails altogether with Daenerys's death. Then the new king is Robert Baratheon's heir, Gendry, to whom John bends the knee. (I woke up at about 3:00 last night and had trouble getting back to sleep, so I had time to think.) And then, just maybe, with her single-minded revenge seeking done, Arya might agree to marry him. It's not so bad having the king's wife also be his best body guard.

I avoided this thread until today because I'd heard that the scripts for the last two episodes had been leaked a month ago and I didn't want someone who read them posting their "theories" and trying to look like they miraculously predicted some huge plot twists. Luckily that didn't happen.

As most people I'm very disappointed in this season and especially the last few episodes.

Bran?? Really????

So what was the purpose of the secret of Jon Snow's true lineage being revealed? It meant nothing in the end. Such a waste of potential.

The best part was Brienne of Tarth completing Jamie's story in The Book of the Kingsguard... I am pretty disappointed in both seasons 7 and 8; mainly at the fast pace of both seasons, and especially the last two episodes of season 8.

From the beginning of the last episode and up to Drogon flying off with "The Mad Queen" all was good... then the episode fell apart there after.

I've also been disappointed in the last two episodes, also because of the speed.

I never really took my own Gendry theory too seriously, but it was a real possibility. John as the new king seemed too straight forward and obvious to be the outcome; John would have refused it, and it was obvious that there had to be another turn in the road. I certainly never saw Bran coming. Sure, Tyrion made it sound sensible, but Bran was supposed to turn into a tree. Gendry would have been a better outcome.

Sansa as Queen of the North is a bad idea and I see trouble coming. She's never been the best or the brightest, and is faithless. Will she be truer to her bannermen than she's been to her family? And sure, with the king of the six kingdoms being her brother he acquiesced to her decision to keep the north independent, but will the next ruler? Those who live in wheelchairs don't usually have long lives, so she'll probably outlive Bran. (On the other hand, if not her then who, as King/Queen of the North or as Lord/Lady of Winterfell?) One can only hope that she takes and follows advice from the other, smarter and wiser lords/ladies in her kingdom, including whomever she picks as hand. (Once the Unsullied and Dothraki are out of earshot so to speak, she could free John from his oath to the Night's Watch and make him her hand.)

As for "So what... the purpose [was] of the secret of Jon Snow's true lineage being revealed? It meant nothing in the end. Such a waste of potential" it 1) finally answered the question of John's mother and why Ned would never tell, and 2) became a part of what drove Danny over the edge. Still, it had the potential to mean much more, so yes, it was wasted. And doing more would have needed more episodes; see the first sentence of this post.

My wife and have spent a little time wondering why Drogon destroyed the iron throne. Was it "If Momma can't have it no one can" or "This BS killed Momma, so screw you all."

But another theory hit me this morning, and I like this one better. Aegon the Conquerer had the throne made at the start of the Targaryen dynasty, and now the throne dies with it.

I read it as; the dragon and rider have a mental attachment to one another. Therefore the dragon knew what really killed The Mad Queen, it was her obsession with the Iron Throne, so he destroyed it. ...and then he scooped her up and flew her back to season 6 where the show truly ended...

If one is a vegan that does crossfit, drives a Tesla, and has never seen an episode of Game of Thrones, what are they going to tell other people about first?

Sunday night. HBO ran "Game of Thrones: The Last Watch". A 2 hour documentary focusing on the behind the scenes of Season 8. Half-way thru watching it. While most of it involves behind the scenes people, one of the most scenes is early on, a Script Table read where most of the actors with speaking lines attended, in one room, to read the scripts for the WHOLE season, real-time, page by page, with a producer reading the script. VERY interesting moments of actor reactions when certain ones die, and applause by the other actors when it is revealed WHO defeats the Night King (not exactly a spoiler, because no defeat of the Night King, then GAME OVER). As I said, many found out at the same time (though it's been said in the past that some jumped ahead to the last pages to see if they're still alive at the end of the season). Then the table read scripts were all shredded, and the actors went their own ways, many not meeting again for months (Table Read the only time when so many got together at the same place and time).

Anyway, HBO is repeating this, so many of you may want to record and watch it.

Here's the table read part, spoilers galore.
