I think the actual speed at touchdown may be less. There is a retro rocket system that fires a split second before touchdown. That is what kicked up all the dust at landing.

They say in the video it slows it down... but the telemetry goes from 16 mph to zero...

So this is the 5th time this rocket has been tested. I wonder what they're waiting on? When will they fly an actual mission?

I think they're just getting the crew-rated capsule built and tested. They said they may fly people before the end of the year. On a side tangent, one of my TARC students from a few years ago was involved with a Purdue experiment that flew on this mission.

[edit] Now that I go back and look at the video, this capsule had windows, so it may have been the one that will fly with people. If that's the case, it must be the fifth flight for the booster, and not the fifth for the capsule.
