Greetings all,

I hope I'm doing this right!

A few years back, I purchased the entire inventory and tooling for Quasar One Rockets from the owners of RC Country Hobbies in Sacramento, CA, with the intent to carry on the company. I used to love building these kits, and when I heard Chet and Terrie and family were selling it off, I jumped on it.

Of course, as the universe would have it, a series of unfortunate events occured (a car accident, followed immediately by a motorcycle accident) then one of the single most fortunate events occured (the birth of twins), and so, I am forced to sell.

Quasar One was started in Elk Grove by a local Rocketry Savant and Genius some years ago, who may actually be a member of this forum. If you're here, and would like to get Quasar One back and carry on this flag, please let me know! I really don't want this stuff to vaporise and kill off what a great company it was! (Before I got it. haha)

I have massive qtys of tubes, parachute materials, lugs, rings, balsa, plastic nose cones, fittings, custom decals and decal paper, packaging material and tools, etc, all gathering dust upstairs. Basically everything needed to package up and sell a wide variety of rocketry kits.

This lot would be ideal for a club, or someone looking to start their own business in rocketry as I had hoped to do.

Please, feel free to contact me regarding this, and if you're local to the Modesto, CA area, I'd be glad to arrange a showing.

I'd ideally like to sell as a big lot, as I don't have the time with two fresh little ones to spend time parting this out.

My selling price is $1500 OBO, which I feel is reasonable.

I'm sure you will need to post some pictures with a rough description of what is in each.

Did you acquire the rights to the "Quasar One Rockets" brand and the individual rocket designs and are they being conveyed in this sale?

That is correct. Granted, this brand has sat dormant for some time, so everything is a touch dated, and could use a refresher.

Included in this sale will be every single file I was given when I purchased the company, which included the package art, decal art, design files, instructions and related drawings, etc. Mind you, the original owner Mike did all of this himself. He certainly was an incredible mind.

Fellas,

I added some "in-situ" pictures of the stuff on that drive Link. It's all pretty dusty, but all in tubs and bags, mostly.

Pretty sad to have let it all sit this long.

This looks like a great deal if all the uline supplies, decals, totes, bins, etc. are included with the rockets, parts, and plans.

I live nowhere in the area and am not looking to start a business, but looks like a good way to get a kick start.

That would be tough to ship. That is a lot of stuff.
Yeah... That's the rough part. It would be a few pallets, for certain. I didn't include pictures of the bin racks, as I figured they would be way too cost prohibitive to ship...

Just getting it all home when I originally bought it to Modesto from Sacramento was an adventure in my old beater van at the time (may that van rest in peace).

That is what my wife said. I had to "real" her in about how much would cost to get it.

Tell me more about the tooling you have offered with this sale. I've glanced through the photos, but all I see are building components. What tooling are you offering? Thank you. Sam

Sam,

Tooling is mainly the packaging stuff, however there are tubing cutters, a small German made table saw, and minor other bits, knives, scissors, etc. Most of the parts were cut to spec by suppliers, save for the final, which I had laser cut at a local company.

In the coming days (maybe weeks... ) I am going to attempt consolidation of all of this stuff onto pallets in an attempt to help the large number of those interested get logistics scenarios sorted. I apologize for the disarray in all this and my admitted lack of preparedness in posting this. I must confess I had not really thought about this fully. Ha! There are a few items related to infrastructure (table, small racks, certain bins) in this that may not be worth shipping at all, as they would only increase the costs associated.

Many are finding some logistics companies are wary of this load because of its low density, fragile nature, and as such are either quoting outrageous numbers, or are refusing to quote at all, which strikes me as odd.

Give me some time to consolidate and actually pack this stuff up. Hopefully I can distill it down a bit to make it more worthwhile to those located outside of the bounds of california.

Once palletized, invest in some 2x4s and OSB and covert the pallets to crates. That should remove the worry about it being fragile cargo which is driving up costs due to insurance risks.
