How about the Bandit. That is what I have planned with the nose cone.
I... *MIGHT* be interested in that...
Here's a list of kits that I can think of that might lend themselves to this nosecone:

It is not suitable for an accurate shape of the BNC-60AH based model's nosecone:
K-52P Omega

4" upscales of the PNC-60AH based rockets:
K-52P Omega (not the Cineroc/OMEGA combo)
0652 Patriot
1200 Omega
1271 Renegade
1295 Mean Machine
1300 Blue Ninja
1331 Maxi Icarus
1339 Patrol Cruiser Excalibur
1403 Der Big Red Max
1778 Long John Silver
1983 Arrow
2031 Army Hawk
2185 Screamin' Mimi

4" upscales of the BNC-55AO based rockets:
K-48 Bandit
K-55 Goblin
1248 Bandit
1255 Goblin

4" upscales of the PNC-55AO based rockets:
KC-5* BOMARC
0657 BOMARC
0891 Prime Number Explorer
1278 Vigilante
1294 Cobra-1500
1332 Sea Strike 'D'
1334 Sky Bolt
1335 Blue Bird Zero
1368 Comet
1376 NASA Pegasus
1902 Space Station Aquarius
1943 Magician
1997 Pathfinder
2025 Meteor
2043 Photon Probe
2052 Photon Disruptor
2124 F-22 Air Superiority Fighter
2138 Firebird
7001 Meteor (Boxed)

* KC-5 has an injection molded nose whose shape and size is identical to the PNC-55AO. KC-5 at some point switched to a balsa nose with a hollow core, but the part designation for this version is unknown. Sources: Estes Nose Cone/Kit List Reference - Revision 10.1 and my own research.

Build threads? plz?

Sure, but it'll be a while... you wouldn't believe the problems I'm having getting supplies here. Between shipping costs/restrictions (as well as damage), and sourcing local equivalent products, it's slow going here.

Try shooting an email to Randy Boadway at Erockets. They have a wood milling service that has done an upscale laminated Goblin fin set at 2.25". Very similar to the MDRM, but not swept back as much. They might be able to do a custom job for you. Worth a try anyway.

Randy made me up a set of 1/8" MDRM centering rings, like the stock kit ones, but with a 54mm hole, so it's a pretty sure bet he'd have 'em in 29mm...and with the scans K'Tesh (and others, I'm sure) has of the fin cores, theres a good chance Randy can crank 'em out (if he doesn't already have the file stashed away somewhere).

I thought the cone would fit standard LOC tubing. Mine is way to tight. Not sure if it could be sanded to fit. Was going to build an upscale Bandit

I just unboxed mine today, and it fits my LOC tube just a hair tighter than perfect. It slides off one handed, pretty as you please.

Can't force it in mine. Even tried it in the tube from the new Nike Zeus. I will try to sand some

The nose cone showing up on Estes website has me hopeful for a rerelease - though I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s an MDRM-lite that flies safely on 29mm BP motors. Is a 12-14 ounce MDRM feasible using the Estes nose cone and pre-slotted body tube?

Will have to sand about .030 off the OD of the shoulder.

FWIW, my original MDRM NC is just a hair snug in one end of my full-length LOC tube and about right in the other end.

I did get it to fit but had to sand quite a bit. Would have been faster if I would have used a power sander. Not sure what their tolerances are but mine must have been on the high end. The upscale Bandit will get built.

I have started a clone, but have a question about the engine mount...the instructions don't give dimensions for placement of the CRs, telling you to use the "green spacer" (item E). I tried to find a length or a replacement part for this item, but am drawing a blank. I just need the length...I am guessing 1/2". I know I need to leave enough tube sticking out to epoxy the motor retainer.

I have a green spacer at my shop. I'll traipse up there tomorrow and post the measurement, if someone else doesn't beat me to it tonight.

What are you planning to use as your retainer? The stock Estes 29mm screw-on retainer?

Thanks! I have made my own from plumbing compression fittings...the instructions were on Info Central or Rocketry Planet, can't remember which

EDIT: found a similar article on Rocket Reviews https://www.rocketreviews.com/next-1435.html

Just let the aft end of the motor tube stick out enough to have adequate bonding area for your retainer. It won't change where the fins line up with the slots, as the bottom of the fin tabs but up to the aft ring, which sets the location for the mid (slotted) ring. The top ring doesn't contact the top of the fin tabs (I dont think), so it shouldn't be an issue.

I just glued the top and bottom CRs approx 1/2" from each end of the motor tube.

I finally found it. It is 1/2".
