I have a small facial laceration, skull fracture, and two lacerations after hitting my head on a cabinet door. One more reason to close the doors and put the cabinets higher.

Whoa! No concussion? If not, thank God. Was that an embarrassing ER experience? :D Hope you heal up quickly.

I hate that. Every time I unload the dishwasher I have to be very aware not to jam the corner of the kitchen cabinet doors in my skull when bending down then coming up to put them away.

I was testing water meters for a Water District some years ago. I was testing meters at an apartment complex, the meters were contained in cabinet structures on the outside of the building. It was a really windy day. I bent over to get a fitting out of the bucket to complete the hydraulic connection. Of course the wind blew one of the doors directly into my head as I was standing up. I hit it pretty hard, I still have the scar on my forehead. I hit it with enough force that it jacked up my neck. I'm sure I had a concussion, I was a little out of it, seeing stars etc. I had a heck of a headache for a couple of days. Yes. of course I kept working. In my case the brain isn't always a vital organ. That was one of those days.

I was working under a tractor that had a cab. Got out from under the tractor and stood up right under the open cab door. Went right back down again...
Now I always make sure the doors are closed when I'm working under a cab machine. ;)

Skull fracture from a cabinet door!? You have got to stop making cabinet doors out of armor plate.

Get better Chuck.

I don't run into cabinet doors; I stand up and hit my head on the underside of stuff. No serious injuries yet. Did I mention that I don't run into cabinet doors; I stand up and hit my head on the underside of stuff. No serious injuries yet.

Ouch!

My story is with a car door. I was working in a car wash, and I was the guy at the end of the line who wiped down the inside, did the inside & driver side windows, and presented the clean car to the customer. I had a routine. it was pretty simple. I would open the driver's door, swing around, grab a cloth, then swing back & duck into the car thru the open door & do my bit. This one old ratty car came in, and I did my thing. Only the car door was missing it's spring & indexing system (that indent that holds the car doo open). So as I swung back & ducked into the car, the door had swung out, then started to swing back in. And that was the exact time I was ducking back in. Hit my forehead right on the corner of the door. The somewhat pointy metal corner part square between the eyes!! I stopped, stuttered, and went in to clean the car. I then present the car to the lady. Boy, did she had shear fright on her face.. I thought that odd. After that, I went to rest a bit, and see how badly I got hit. Blood just pissing down my face!!! i was covered! Blood & sweat! No wonder she had a fright!

I then got a quick ride to the emergency..

When I was in the Air Force I had to do a hydraulic line repair in the nose well of the aircraft. Popped my head up in there and promptly put a niceslice in the top of my head. At least I got out of work on that one. :D:D:D:D:D

Rest up!

At least it's not as bad as my co-worker who blew out their ACL playing tetherball. Every doc or nurse that came in to the ER room said, "So, tetherball, huh?"

Two weeks ago while at work, I swiveled my chair around to toss a crumpled piece of paper in the trash and missed. I walked over in the corner of the office where the trash was to reach down to pick it up. I raised up really quick and BAM! I hit my head on a metal box mounted to the wall that holds a fire extinguisher. There was a first aid kit sitting on top of it..go figure.

I hate bonking my head, I feel for you. The remains of the last guy that hit his head at my work........... Not really, somebody spilled food colouring used to mark the end of a run of boards. I hit my head every time I have to work on this machine.IMG_20180529_005157.jpeg

During my "Jack Of All Trades" days, I worked a couple months as a construction grunt. This not really being my bag, but I knew I could work the job. They had me up on a ladder 12-14 feet high (unsure) tacking down something and when I was done, I came down, started to move the ladder to another spot when suddenly there was this THUNK sound and my head was radiating, tweeting birds and everything. The hammer I left lying on the top of the ladder, tagged me dead on top of my head. It's a wonder it didn't knock me out. That hurt like a som**%&$)+!

Next time your wife accuses you of being hard headed, you can point out that your head is not as hard as a cabinet door.

Hope you feel better soon, Chuck.

I feel your pain. Try not to make a habit of it. In my family we have klutz incidents often enough we gave it a name- having a “Mosley moment” (our last name). Hope you’re better soon!

Cabinet doors have been a nemesis of mine since Jr high (6' by age of 12, 2m now)

They remain firmly shut in ny apartment, and I'm wary whenever I find myself in someone else's kitchen

Came up out of an office on the ship, ducked under the safety chain that keeps people from falling down the ladder, and stood up into the corner of a motor controller mounted on the wall. 6 stitches.
Walked into a valve hand wheel that had just been reinstalled while we were in the shipyard. Hard hat bounced off my head and down to the next level, had a crack in it when I picked it up. Would have seen the hand wheel and not hit it if I wasn't wearing that stupid hard hat.....

Hope you mend quickly and completely!

Paint some Luftwaffe crosses on it, maybe a kaiser spike and bang on! Our Chief bought us all cranials when we took delivery of our first F-15E due to the number of head injuries during air to ground configurations/ops.post-125364-0-81416100-1445743750.jpg beasts mode.jpg
