1: Learn how to merge onto a highway people! I drive a semi truck, and I see so many people merge onto traffic at 40-45 mph, then speed up to the flow of traffic. Hang up and drive!
2: When going through a fast food drive thru, the menu hasn't changed from the other hundreds of times you've driven thru. Order your darn food and GO!
3: Robo calls . I (try to) sleep in the day, and I think robo caller operators should be waterboarded and then quartered (for the first offence--they usually don't reoffend after the first offence).

1) Well-done steak. Anyone who orders one will simply be given an overcooked hamburger and their steak given to someone who appreciates its value. Feel free to put your steak sauce on your overcooked hamburger.
2) Steak sauce
3) People who drive too slow in the passing lane. Get the heck over.

Surveys.

People whose solution to every issue is to outlaw something. It doesn't work, it just creates outlaws. I'm not trying to be a jerk (I'm actually quite accomplished at it), I really think that line of reasoning is counter productive and simply a trap.

(4) Over-priced rocketry supplies ( not naming any particular Vendors / Manufacturers . . . You know who you are ! )
(5) People who attempt to suppress honest answers to Surveys, to avoid "offending" anyone.

If we are living life right....We are ALL Outlaws in some way or another!!!

I drove for over 10 years without a license, It took me getting pulled over for doing 95+ MPH on Bissonet St. (speed limit 30) in Houston to get that all straitened out....I was 29....such a long time ago....it seems....

And Yes Sir.....there are WAY too many counter productive laws, ideas, mindsets

Prior to that, things were CRAZY.....
I've been employed by the same employer for 16½ years.....been in the same field for over 20.....

Of course, going out of one's way to complain, about whatever is posted, is just another form of garbage.

Face it, the world we live in today is "polarized", at every level, including rocketry.

Starting a thread and asking it not to become political is like asking for trouble. Let’s play nice & follow rules.

I’d make it so drivers couldn’t use phones while driving in any capacity. I don’t care if it’s hands free or not because it means drivers not paying attention. And people over 50 wouldn’t be allowed to drive without passing a reaction, and general driving exam ever other year.

Especially since that sort of thing is specifically against the rules of this forum?
There are PLENTY of places to spew all you want, from any angle you want, all over the internet and out there in "the world". This place, which is a private forum, DOES have rules and essentially a covenant amongst the general membership to "not go there". Why would anyone break those rules, other than to just be an ass?

It's obvious that there are some very strong, and very different (even "polarizing") opinions and viewpoints within our membership. Which is fine. But we all have a love of rocketry, and CAN come together to share that. There are folks here who, on political and/or religious grounds, couldn't be more diametrically opposed to my own views....but we can still have a great time together out on the launch field, and on this forum. Why poison that? Why specifically go out of one's way to poison that?

I do understand your frustration about going to ridiculous lengths to avoid offending anyone. And I do understand the lack of honesty inherent in such behavior. What I don't get is the tendency to take that to the next level, and putting effort into specifically offending people just to piss them off. There are lots of things in this world that you CAN do, that you are FREE to do, that are LEGAL to do, and that you have a RIGHT to do, but that are still stupid, pointless, and just plain useless to do. Just because you can doesn't always mean that you should.

I might think someone's political/religious viewpoint is idiotic, asinine, and just plain wrong.....but honestly what good does it achieve on this forum for me to go out of my way to post that, to start a thread about it, or to encourage anyone else to do so? Do we really think that sharing the launch field, or helping each other out with build tips, or just trading launch stories with someone who feels differently than we do about guns/god/obama/nazis/immigration/taxes/justice/whatever is so awful that we should ostracize them, weed them out, so that we only hang with our own?. Jeez, talk about "political correctness"!! ("there's no way I'm going to talk about rockets with someone who doesn't feel the same way I do about Hillary's emails", or "ain't no way I'm going to enjoy that guy's last flight....he wants the border wall"). Sounds a bit like a familiar type of "purity" that I'd rather steer clear of.

You'd probably be surprised to know that I too think that political correctness is out of control, way out of proportion, and generally a bane on our society these days. But I also believe that the all too common response of being specifically offensive, making an effort to piss someone off just because, and generally being rude and obnoxious to counter balance is even worse. Folks who are so outraged at the outrage? - most of the time that manifests in them being childish at best, and a-holes at worst. Isn't that special?

Laugh if you want about me coming at this from the "can't we all just get along" angle. But honestly, why again is this such a bad thing?


If you'd really rather this be a "f*#k you, I don't agree with you, so this is a fight, and I'm going to cleanse this place of people like you" thing....oh well, I guess.

I lost my Z3 to a young woman. Got a decent check from insurance and picked up a Z4. At 59 I don't see my reactions or much anything else come in to question. My thoughts on driving is if you don't like the way I drive, stay off the sidewalk.
