Blue Bird Zero Nosecone

I like the BBZ and came across a Estes Star Orbiter that I am converting to BBZ. But the nosecone of the Star Orbiter has a very sharp nosecone, from what I have seen, the BBZ has more of a rounded nosecone. Anyone have a great picture or drawing of a BBZ nosecone? I was thinking more like DRM nosecone?

I was noticing the similarity in Length/Diameter ratio of those also, that sounds like a great idea for a kit bash.

it was P/N 071075, PNC-55AO (Blow Molded)

Not sure if the BNC is the exact same shape as the PNC version:

which they say is a Goblin nose.

The Star Orbiter is also a BT60 tube not a BT55 like the BBZ is.

The BBZ uses the PNC-55AO, which is fairly common... You can always pick up a cheaper kit that uses it, and use it for parts. Currently, it's not available in a bulk pack from Estes.

[EDIT] Reread the OP... The PNC-55AO is the downscale of the Estes PNC-60AH (the nosecone for the DRM). Again, a fairly common nc, but not available currently from Estes in a bulk pack or individually. Of course, Estes has just restocked the MDRM nosecone... If you're interested in a 4" upscale.

In process of painting a BT70 BBZ, a 4" would be massive, but sounds like something that will have to consider......

Thanks for the help! Will use a DRM nosecone that I have. The Star Orbiter was on clearance at hobby lobby with a broken fin, so 6 bucks for it! Will have to make another that uses the BT55 later. As for using the MDRM nosecone and building a 4" one... Oh yes! Later this summer that will be a great build after getting some of the current projects done and clearing some space up.

eRockets is my go to shop. Randy is cool and very helpful.

I second that eRockets is a great place to shop, they replaced a kit for me that the USPS gorillas trashed, no questions asked. Its nice to give business to people who know how to treat their customers!
