Sold Loki Research 76-8000 motor hardware $350 + S

Cleaning out my garage and found this motor. It's at least 7 years old, but never used and in perfect condition. Has the standard #56 nozzle.



I found some other rocketry stuff that I will be listing for sale, but this is the only motor hardware.

I think it was 5 minutes from the time is was posted to the time I snapped it up. I even took time to check with Wayco: "honey, do you mind if I pick up another motor casing?"

It's the opposite in my house. I try to avoid asking my spouse about rocketry purchases.

I think I may have been the cause of that. I was really wanting that Gorilla you guys snatched up recently, he pointed the finger at "Ms Greedy". That's funny.

A previous discussion about this motor made us decide that the 76/6000 casing would work better for most of our rockets, so we bought two new casings from Scott at LOKI last year. After more research, I might be able to fit this into my carbon fiber Mongoose 75 if I get a bit creative with the drogue recovery system and internal retention. Might break 30k ft. with the right propellant and a good flight.
Sharon didn't know this when she asked me about this earlier this morning. Not that I could have talked her out of it....

As it turns out this has been a great short term strategy but I am going to have to make a hell of a lot more money to make it a long term strategy. It reminds me of socialism, it works great for a while until the bill comes due.
