Assembled my Creality CR-10 S4 on Sunday after letting it sit for close to a year(?) after buying it. Got a smokin' deal on it through Amazon btw. At that time they were relatively new so were selling for around $800. Clicked on the 'ol "See other buying options" tab and up popped a refurb unit from Sheng Schin or something like that, priced @ $459.00 with a 28 to 32 day shipping window. Showed it to my E.E. buddy, he said "Don't even think about it". I figured Amazon'd cover me so I went against his advice and ordered it. 7 days later there's a box at my door with a shipping label from Tiny Machines out of Houston. Brought it over to my buddies shop where we immediately proceeded to unboxing. Turns out it was a brand new unit with the latest motherboard and all the goodies. Obviously I did not file a grievance. Ever since I saw the new AT G-8, I new I'd have to build something stupid light yet still capable of containing electronics. Tracker was a gimme and since it's a plugged motor, well...Came up with this, should hold my Eggfinder mini, a Quark and a small battery that has yet to be determined. Still need to roll the lightest tube I can and decide on fin stock.20190403_062002.jpg 20190403_061829.jpg N.c. is a 6 to 1 secant ogive, tube is just for reference20190403_061353.jpg . Got a feeling it's gonna need a really calm day and a really long rail, but I just can't not try it. Anyhoo, here's a pic or three. I can't get past the fact that this fells like cheating, it's just too damn easyo_O.

Yes, well technically I did anyhow. Someone else did the openSCAD (configurable code that creates stl. files) generator though, can't remember their name off hand. Just go to thingiverse and look for nose cone generator. There's more than one. Pretty amazing stuff.

Guess I failed to be specific, but that is 29mm. You know, the ones that are impossible to buy. I love this machine:D

Looks like everything'll fit. Quark is only a bit over 2", so it should fit inline w/the mini. Just need the correct format battery. I sized the base for a 2 wrap tube of 5.7oz. carbon twill to keep everything as light as possible. Apogee Aspire @ just under 60 grams sims to almost 8,000' on a G-8 in O.R. Don't think I'll be able to keep it that light with electronics added though. Velocity should be low enough to allow stupid thin/light fins. Thinking maybe just a mylar streamer @ apogee would do it.20190404_055608(1).jpg 20190404_054643(1).jpg Here's an Estes 24mm for weight comparison, and a LOC style tube w/0.045" walls for O.D. If I absolutely can't keep enough weight out of it, ther's always the 'ol F-10...20190404_091711(1).jpg
